I think July would be better. Especially if you’re having a more casual wedding and guys won’t be in suits.

It’s so humid in July in the city. I would definitely choose October. Right now the weather is chilly but not cold. I think its preferable to sweltering heat.

OMG the city is so terrible in the summer. Always so miserable and humid… and the subways reek to high heaven because of it. It’s almost October 19th now and the weather is not too bad, especially for walking!

I also hope that you have some savvy guests because many out of towners are baffled/terrified by the subways.

I’m a Long Islander, and I vote for October!! I personally despise the heat and anything that makes me hot, and as a teacher, I even refused a summer wedding and will be taking some of my days to avoid the heat. When I think of NYC in the summer, the one very distinct, stand out thought is the hot, smelly, wet air blowing on me as I navigate through the subway areas…hate. Some people LOVE heat and aren’t phased, so it’s a personal choice…but I def vote for October!

Have you tried venues in Brooklyn with a view of NYC or even New Jersey with a view of the city?

Definitely October! July is way too hot and humid.  There is no way I’d get in the subway or walk more than 3 blocks in a wedding dress in July.  Your makeup and hair would be ruined in a second and all the guys would sweat through whatever they are wearing.  Also, there are thunderstorms very often in the summer and it could downpour at any time!

Its raining today in NYC and 65 degrees.  But most days in mid October are in the upper 50s to mid 60s and very nice outdoor weather! I’d get a shaw for yourself to keep warm 🙂

october should be beautiful!!  much better than july – it always seems so humid and miserable that time of year.  plus, you can get a super cute little jacket/short cardigan in your wedding color to wear over your dress just when you’re outside!

I would go with October, I love the changing colors etc it’s beautiful and NYC in July is brutal.
