I’m 1 of 5 people that has been “enlisted” to do a holiday party for our women’s group. We are on a very limited budget and can’t find anyone to cater it for us so we decided to do it ourselves.
30 people are coming. We can’t have alcohol so that’s not a budget buster.
The 5 chosen ones all have to work that day and our party is that evening. We have about an hour after we get off to get everything ready. Our solution is to have everything in crockpots as we have several we can use.
My dilemma…I can’t figure out what we should serve. Here’s what we’ve come up with.
Ham (buying several)…it’s precooked so it can warm in the crockpot
2 sides…potatoes and something else
Desserts…we’re each making 3 dozen (different) cookies
Darling Husband thinks we should have meatballs, vegetable tray, chips, etc. but I don’t feel like the “theme” is cohesive. Our “dining” room is separate from the kitchen so we could have light appetizers while we are finishing getting everything ready.
