I don’t think the third hand smoke is not going to hurt your fetus if you are pregnant, but I personally wouldn’t like to go into a house like that for breakfast just for my own self preservation.  I’m really sensitive to smoke though.  If you really want to go, can you ask her to open some windows before you get there and while you are there?

you don’t share a blood supply with the fetus until 8 weeks.  while not an ideal situation, for your health, since you will only be in the TWW, there really is no problem with effecting the baby.

It takes an awful lot to hurt a baby prior to the point that you know you are pregnant. My Future Sister-In-Law smoked up until she knew she was pregnant with both children, and they are both happy and healthy. I don’t think it will hurt to be in that house.

That said, I wouldn’t want to be in that house, ever. I’m highly alergic to ciggeret smoke, and that would just make me feel icky.

mrscandyv:  You wouldn’t be pregnant just in the TWW and you don’t share a blood supply til 6 weeks so its fine. Its probably gross but fine lol.

While regular second hand smoke (being in the same room as someone who is actively smoking) could have some affect on baby I do not think that one-time or rare third hand smoke (being in a room that a person has smoked in the past but is not actively smoking) would have any affect on baby. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Potentially pregnant or not I would never go into a house like that. At this point your health would suffer more than your potential fetus.
