Ok, I have never posted before but visit the boards almost everynight and i LOVE this site! I am having major decision making problems with choosing our invite. It took me forever to decide on this invite, and now I can’t put my finger on why I’m still not happy with it. This is from Paper Source and is their print-at-home “Mums” embossed invitation, matted on aubergine (dark purple) cardstock. It will come in an aubergine envelope with an enclosure card for online RSVP, accomodations, and directions.
Can you guys help me put my finger on what I’m not liking? I think the font needs to be moved a bit more to the right…but beyond that I’m a little nervous it’s too “little girl’s birthday”…am I crazy? Help Pleeeze! 🙂 Thanks!

I think itlooks very pretty. I would move the text a little bit to the right though.

Thanks! Yes I will move it to the right and also I think I’m changing the “reception immediately following” to the same font as the address, and just having our names in the fancy font.
Do you think there is too much going on with the embossing and names in purple and purple matting? I think what’s bothering me is that I really want it to look professional and not ilke I did it myself…Ohhhboy I am such an over-analyzer and wedding planning only makes it worse!

I think it looks classy and elegant. The color is beautiful.

I think it looks gorgeous, maybe try spacing out the text a little more?

I like the way you did the font! I think it’s very pretty and you should be proud of yourself! It definitely doesn’t look homemade.

I think move over to the right more and change the ‘reception’ line to same font (or keep the font, but make it smaller to match the above line). I would make your names larger so they stand out more and actually all the lines in larger font so they take up more space vertically. Ideally the space to the right and the bottom should be the same width. But the invite does look great, not homemade at all (although there’s nothing wrong with that!)

I don’t think it looks too “little girl birthday” at all! I think it looks lovely! I do agree with the other pp’s though that the font needs to be moved over a little to the right and the reception line to be more like the other font so that just your names are highlighted.
