Hi ladies, I need a lot of help with what to wear jewelry-wise and how I should wear my hair for a beach wedding! My dress is lace with a sweetheart neckline, photo below. Not sure if a pearl necklace would be too much and I should just go with earrings and a bracelet maybe. As far as a hairstyle goes, I am absolutely torn between wearing it half up/half down in curls or all back. I am not wearing a veil, only a flower. I have naturally wavy hair that frizzes in the humidity, and it will be extremely humid out! Everything will be held outside. When I’ve curled my hair in the past, it always held regardless of weather, but my bridesmaids think I should wear it all back. My only problem with that is that I NEVER wear my hair back, unless I’m having a bad hair day! I hate the “all slicked back” look. I am much more comfortable wearing a half up half down do but not if I’m going to look like a mess at my own wedding. Thoughts??

I’m having a beach wedding, too, and was STRONGLY advised by the wedding coordinator (who has done many weddings on this beach) to wear it all back because of the wind. I had hoped to keep my long hair flowing and natural for the ceremony, and dress has a sweetheart neckline as well, so I also feel like I’d be showing quite a lot of skin with my hair off my shoulders. She suggested working with my stylist to get it all up for the ceremony, but in such a way that I could take half of it down myself just before the reception (unlike yours, ours is indoors, but even if yours is outdoors I feel like hair whipping around for the reception isn’t as big of a deal). I haven’t had this conversation with my stylist yet, and have a hard time envisioning how that’s even possible, but apparently she’s seen it done before. Could that work for you?
btw, LOVE the dress. Looks fabulous on you.

I am getting married on the beach in 13 days! My coordinator gave the same advice as the previous bride’s did. She told me that beach weddings tend to be windy and hair up looks best in pictures, otherwise you could have it blowing in your face during pictures. I never wear mine all up either, but I’m having the stylist do an updo of loose waves with fresh flowers.
BTW…your dress is stunning. I’d probably go with a simple necklace and more dramatic earrings, especially if your hair is up.
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be beautiful no matter what.

I too am getting married on the beach but I am not wearing my hair up – I think my ears stick out. I am hoping to wear my hair gathered to the side, something like this….(sorry picture isnt the greatest…). I agree with the others your dress is beautiful!

Thanks for the advice everyone! Ugh I guess up it is! I do like the loose waves updo idea. I have seen a few pics in the gallery of loose updos with fresh flowers, so maybe I’ll take some with me to the salon 🙂 I voiced my concern about this to the salon manager at the hotel and she assured me “hairspray works wonders”, should I choose to leave it half down, but maybe I should just play it safe!
