Im recently engaged and my wonderful Fiance is letting me choose what I would like since he picked out my promise ring. My promise ring is all diamonds but I would like to do something different for my ering. I want to stay away from diamonds because of all the ethical things surrounding the industry and personally I dont feel the need to have a diamond.
Im in contact with a company to make it and have picked out a setting but cant choose the stone. My Fiance would like a white stone still so I was thinking about a white sapphire but my favorite colour is pink so Im so stuck.. Would love it for some pics and advice!!! Please??? This is the setting below

Sapphire is soooo pretty! what about a light pink one? I’m a fan on pink stones myself. How do you feel about man made stones, or do you want to stick with natural?

I would prefer sticking the natural route but honestly I wouldnt stick my nose up at a lab one. My only issue with the pink stones is all the ones ive seen are harsh pink and i would want a very dull pink so it goes with everything.

I found this one the other day and fell in LOVE (not that you’re looking to buy from anyone else, but thought you might like to see)

Have you seen a white sapphire up close? I thought they were actually pretty amazing! The only thing I wasn’t super crazy about but I could probably live with is what another Bee told me was windowing. Where every once in a while you can see right through the gem to the other side of it.

Thats very pretty. But i have to say i like how my setting sits up a bit so my bands wil fit in the nicely
Ive seen them but when I have looked in the past I never really paid any attention to them to be honest. I dont think that the windowing would bug me since Im not trying to hide the fact that I dont have a diamond. I would proudy wear it as a sapphire 🙂

Try looking up morganite rings in the bee. So pretty and barely pink!

If you are wanting to go for a more traditonal look with your ering (a white stone) keep it just as it is and pair it with a pink stone band. Many Bee’s do that. Some like a pop of color, or it’s their favorite color, or its their FH’s birthstone.

Barely pink moissanite?
If you want pink I suggest you get pink. it’ll be set with white diamonds all around so win-win. the setting will be so pretty regardless of what stone you pick

If you’re concerned about the ethics of the gem industry (lets be honest, it’s ALL precious gems, not just diamonds) I’d consider working with Brilliant Earth.
This was really important to me and Fiance, so he did a LOT of research. We were going to do a manufactured stone, but ultimately he did choose to go with a diamond from Brilliant Earth. They also do recycled precious metals, which, again he liked due to the ethical issues of mining.
You can pick out a gemstone here: http://www.brilliantearth.com/colored-gemstones/ or loose diamond: http://www.brilliantearth.com/loose-diamonds/search/
Just an alternative option!

Maybe your center stone can be a white sapphire and the stones around the halo can have light pink sapphires? That way you both get features you want! I have yellow stones on my halo and a white center and I love the contrast.
Beautiful setting, by the way! I adore pear shapes!!

I love that site. I looked into the diamond but I could never justify spending over 20000 on a center stone and they dont have a white sapphine. I will look more into the gemstone situation because I must have been a little off since I havent heard bad things about gemstones. So if need be I will go completely lab created 🙂
I did love the morganite 🙂 only thing I would have to decide on is they look more to the peach side which I dont hate!!!
I actually love that idea. I was already thinking about getting one for the hubbys birthstone but adding a pink one would be cute too:) I honestly wouldnt of thought about it.
Im not a huge fan of mossys:( not agaisnt them just not my thing they just look so close to diamonds and tbh just not looking for that look. White sapphires just have their own look to them and are very pretty thats why im leaning towards that one.
Could I see a pic. Didnt think about reversing the order thats cute:) Thanks about the setting im just so in love with pear shapes and have been for awhile and its alittle less common than a square or round. No hating on anyones ring because lets be honest im a girl and love them all!!! lol

The natural sapphire company sells loose stones as well as settings! You can look there!

Certainly! The metal on mine is also yellow, but I think pink sapphires would look pretty on either rose or white gold!
