I would put everything in your job search under your legal name, i.e., your married name.  You don’t want to apply under your maiden name, because you’re the technically applying under an alias.

If they ask for references, just politely add that you recently changed your name and that your current employer knows your as Mary Maiden, not Mary Married.

I was recently in this boat, but trickier because I have publications under my maiden name. I just hyphenated my resume and didn’t worry about it. If I didn’t have publications, I would have just changed it and written my new name on my resume/applications. Nobody is going to look up your records (i.e. do a background check) without written permission, which will ask you if you had different names.
