I am having a wedding of 100-120 guests. I am having the ceremony at a medium size church and the reception in an intimate cozy indoor wedding hall that looks out to a garden.
I only have 3 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen in mind. I am not sure if I should have more people in my wedding party. What do you think is the ideal number? Do you think I should have more people in my wedding party? I have tons of girl friends and cousins (both guys and girls) but it would be hard to choose which cousins to be in the party without making the others feel excluded. Thanks for your advice 🙂

I dont think there is any “rule” that states that you have to have a certain number of people in your bridal party. This is totally up to you, and who you are close to and want to have stand by you on your special day. My wedding is going to be approx 75 people and I have 6 girls, and my FI has 5 Groomsmen. Even if you just had 1 person standing up there with you it doesnt matter, it all boils down to who really is deserving to stand up with you on your special day!

@blue_eyed_bride: Great advise about “who is deserving to stand there with me.” I have many close girl friends I would like to add but my fiance doesn’t know many guys he would like to add to the wedding party… This makes it a bit difficult as well, knowing more girls than guys. Thanks for your advise!!

I have 3 close friends that are BMs, plus my FI’s 2 sisters and his female best friend, so 6 total BMs. My Fiance has 3 best guy friends who will be groomsmen, plus his brother and my brother, so 5 total groomsmen. I think it’s the 21st century and it really doesn’t matter if you don’t have an even number of BMs and groomsmen. From what I’ve read here on Weddingbee, a lot of girls are having “uneven” bridal parties!
Especially if you have more girls than guys – for walking down the aisle, I’m sure one lucky groomsmen will be happy to have 2 ladies on his arm!

@MsVoyageur: Thanks, I completely agree with you! I might have a Groomsmen walk with two BMs 🙂
