I think pretty much any band will look great! I particularly love the second ring that vorpalette posted. Beautiful!

I also have a solitaire and we’re about to start shopping for wedding bands. But can I just say that I’m super jealous of your long, thin fingers?? You can practically wear 3 bands around that ring and STILL have room. My scrawny fingers will barely fit one other band.

I intend to get a plain band the same mm as my e-ring, and a pave eternity band 0.5 mm smaller than my e-ring, and stacking all three. My e-ring is platinum and my two bands will be rose gold. I love stacking and mixing metals.

I originally had a solitaire and I paired it with a 1/2 carat weight, half eternity band (meaning the diamonds only went a little more than halfway down the band).  I had a full eternity band for a little bit but I didn’t like how I was constantly banging the bottom of it.

@MissAmbieJ:  Just saw your post now.  By the way, love your ering.  I’ll be checking into this thread and any sound advice you receive as I also have the same prob (similar type ering here).  So confused also.  Damnit why does all of this have to be so harrrdddddd?!?  Don’t know about you, but part of me wants two wrings: one plain band that completely matches my FI’s band (I want to look down in the middle of the night, when my Fiance is notorious for inter-twining his fingers w/ mine to hold hands and we continue sleeping like that, lol, and see our matching bands touch) and one bling band.  Why not get both?   Eternity, and half eternity, bands are gorgeous also.

This is my ring:

It’s a .75 carat center stone with twelve .18’s set around it, and two tiny peekers on  the side 🙂  My fiance and I both want plain bands in rose gold to match my e-ring (hard to tell  in the picture, but it is rose gold).  I think a plain band is more solemn, and wouldn’t draw attention from your beautiful engagement ring.  I think a plain band sets my e-ring off best, but it would be nice to have something blingy when I’m not wearing it.  I’m not a fan of diamond studded wedding rings, but I’m hoping that the matching wedding band for this e-ring (a small pave, same as around my center stone) will be next year’s anniversary gift. 🙂

I’m pretty sure someone else already said this, but if you’re going for an eternity band, I suggest the full one.  The only risk with having the stones on the inside of your hand is crushing the settings and losing them.  If you get your ring from a good jeweller and have it inspected regularly, that shouldn’t be a problem.
