Ok so here is my story…went off the pill end of August. Didn’t get period until October 8th and have not had a period since. I had my annual checkup end of Oct and wasn’t pregnant at that point. I took a pregnancy test the first week of November, then a week later. Both were clearly negative.
Over the weekend, I noticed some light pink spotting and thought for sure AF was coming. I had cramps, tenderness, etc. Then it was gone. So Monday morning, I took a test, sat there a few minutes, saw nothing, and left it on my bathroom counter. When I went back a few hours later and remembered it was there, I saw a VERY faint line. I showed hubby, but he wasn’t convinced. This AM I took another one, trying to time it so it didn’t go past the 10 min mark. Sure enough, around 7 mins, I saw the VERY faint line again. Since they were the 88 cent Walmart tests, I ran out and got the first response early response tests. POS and close to the 10 min mark, saw a still faint but definitely there pink line.
HOWEVER… Just took a digital FR test and it told me NO. So I have to ask… Which do I trust? Even if its about to be or past the 10 min mark, would a pink line appear for no reason? I’m so confused!! Anyone ever experience this??

The digitals are not as sensitive so if you’re very early on it won’t detect the HCG level.

Pinkmimosas:
– AFter the 10 minute mark, pink lines can show up even though you’re not pregnant. This has happened to me personally.
– digitals are less sensitive so a very faint line will not definitely register as pregnant on a digital because its threshold is different
– Try to take the same type of test with first morning urine two days apart. If the pink line gets darker from the first to the second, you are pregnant. If it gets lighter or stays the same, you are probably having a chemical pregnancy

Wait a few days and try again with an FRER. Digitals are not nearly as sensitive. FRER can detect hcg as low as 6 in my personal experience (testing after miscarriage so I knew my levels).

I don’t have much advice other than the digitals require a higher level of HGC to come up positive so that could explain the negative there.
Try a FRER with first morning urine and see what happens.

Pinkmimosas: Yep, agree with other Bee’s FRER with FMU. And post a picture of it too.

Evaporation lines can show up on tests after a certain amount of time that often resemble a positive result. I agree, try another test in the morning and see what it looks like then.

Well it’s positive but very faint. Could be very early, or could be a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage). At this point I would call the doctor and ask for blood work. Hopefully it’s just early, congrats!

I’m still not convinced! Or maybe I’m just in shock! But thanks! I’m gonna keep testing every few days!
