I’ve tried on several solitaire diamonds at the store and am having a hard time finding a band that I like. Many appear to be too blunt on the sides, sharp, I am wanting a more softer edge but no idea what that looks like or what it is called. I am hoping to see some of your engagement ring pics and the names of the different options.
I like the thicker bands too, trying to decide between a 2 and 3 mm. I attached a couple pictures of the blunt edges that I am referring to.
Any pics, details will be real helpful!

I am also trying to decide on prongs. 4 or 6. I have been told that 6 take alot away from the fire of the diamond but the 4 prongs seem to make a round diamond, have a square shape it seems.

Wow, I had a very similar setting for my old e-ring but I didn’t like the band so thick, so I had it reset.
I also had a 4 prong but didn’t like the squareness, so my current ring is a 6 prong. I hope these pictures help you, as it seems our thinking was along the same lines and we have similar tastes!
The center stone is exactly the same size, but with the wider band it looks a lot smaller than with a thinner band, so just be aware of that.

Both your old and new rings are both very pretty. It does really make the diamond look different by having a different band width – nice to see the comparrison. Thank you. What is the ct size of the diamond, for perspective and what was the size of your old band / new band.
It also seems like your new band has softer edges, what technique or term is that called?
From the pictures it appears that the 6 prong gives the ring, a more round shape as well. Ive heard people say that the fire from the diamond gets lost more with 6 prongs than 4 but I think they are just as shiney with six versus 4, what is your opinion on that?
