I need your help. I am a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding and having a difficult time coming up with what I should contribute towards my share of the bridal party’s shower gift.
So far, we have all chipped in to purchase the bride the 2 pieces of luggage and the hamper, which she registered for, and now are being asked to also purchase our own separate personal gifts to include as a whole. The maid of honor has suggested we purchase items that the bride would use on her honeymoon, which will be in Costa Rica. Any suggestions (please also include any specific item’s vendor or website that you recommend)? Thank you all so much!
Some other bridesmaids have already purchased the following items to include:
1.) Personalized “Mrs.” hoodie
2.) Monogrammed beach bag
3.) Personalized beach towels
4.) “Just Married” flip flops

@Fireflyyy: Sorry, but who’s asking you to spend all this money and telling you what to buy?! I think it’s very sweet that the Maid/Matron of Honor is making suggestions, but I don’t think you should be told that you have to buy a present on top of the group gift! That’s very generous of you if you agree, but I personally wouldn’t be cool with that.
So if you are a lovely generous person (which it sounds like) what about a little airplane package for her and Darling Husband to use on their way to the HM? Lifesavers, gum, a book of puzzles, magazines, maybe one of those neck pillows, etc.

how about monogrammed or personalized luggage tags?

ditto on bakerella about you not HAVING to do above and beyond.
I don’t know if they need passports but if they do you could get Mr./Mrs. passport covers. This is a cheaper set for under $5 that you can find on Amazon.

@Nola: We got the Mr & Mrs passport holders, but customs did not like them. They made us take them out of the holders right off the bat. Just a heads up to anyone who might want them. They’re adorable but useless 🙁
