I have been throwing around ideas for almost a year(ahh) about what I should make our wedding "theme". I just want things to match, feel comfortable and be very "us".
Our wedding is in May in a garden for the ceremony and then in a hall that is very old fashioned castle like. Our wedding colours are olive, brown and white. My FH and I have known each other since we were 7 and 8, and have been dating since highschool. So I would like a theme or idea that will reflect our long relationship. Also, FH and I are very very different, (which makes us work well), so we dont really have a common theme between us besides how much we love each other!
Ok enough back ground information! I was thinking of having like a tree theme. I could have a tree on the invitation and have a heart carved in the tree trunk with T + C in the middle(symbol of young love?). Then I could use this heart with T+C on things like the programs ect, to carry this tree theme throughout.
I could also have a wooden wishing well as our cardbox that would have T+C carved in the lid. And as a guestbook I could have a wooden bench that guests could sign with their best wishes and then I could seal it later so that we could use it outside without fading(as seen on weddingbees blog). Maybe add in a few crystal trees?
Thoughts??? Ideas?? Suggestions???
Does this make sense in the least??
This is my first post in WeddingBee!!! One of many to come I hope.
Anyone have any ideas what I would call this theme??? (instead of tree theme)

I think the tree theme is great! Very cute, especially with the initials on the trees. I’m not sure what else you would call it though…I’m sure someone else will have a good idea 🙂

I love your theme idea, it’s so sweet and I feel like it tells the story of you & your Fiance growing up together. I say Do it!

That sounds really cute, like it relates to your relationship, and as it’s described, not overboard–making it one of the best themes I’ve ever heard. Just remember that you don’t have to put a tree on EVERYTHING. A few touches throughout your wedding will pull everything together.

Wow!! Quick replys!! I love it!! lol..
Thanks for your thoughts ladies!

I love the idea. My daughter and her Fiance met in 1st grade so I get it. (they didn’t date til college)
I think it’s really cute. I might add in some ‘school stuff’..use your pics from school as you grow up and hang them on the trees.
I’ve been thinking about "All I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarten" as a theme for my daughter but they already have a venue and a theme.
Go with it!

I love the idea, but I can’t come up with a name besides maybe a "wishing tree" theme?

It isn’t stupid at all!! I love it. I have loved those giving tree save the dates for such a long time. Actually, I think it is available for free download as well – I can’t remember where I saw it, though!

I love this theme. Sooooo cute, although I really can’t think of a name. But who needs a name, you explained it just fine.

Have you seen the Birch Tree Collection by Jessica Rust? It’s soooo pretty and would be perfect for your theme! You could use the dessert plates to serve your cake on at the head table and then you’d have them forever.

I love the idea, maybe your theme could be Rooted in Love…

Some themes are just tacky, but this sounds really cute and trendy. Go for it, I would love it if I were a guest at your wedding as I would fully see how much time and effort you put into the details!
