- Wedding: October 2013
So, I just booked my venue this week (yay!)…It’s an old restored paramount theater from 1929. It’s SUPER cool (IMO) but its kind of got me a little confused as to what my wedding “theme” should be, or if I even need a specific theme or not. Here is a picture of the theater…the ceiling is painted like the sky, which is one of my favorite parts.
And here is where the reception will be. It’s in the same building, but it’s kind of just a plain ballroom, no real wow factor with this space.
So, heres my dilemma. I don’t really want to go for the whole Hollywood Glam or super vintage theme. And since it’s more of a true theater with plays and not movies, I feel like thats ok – its not a place that screams Hollywood to me anyway. But that leaves me with…what? Spanish villa theme (that is what the architecture in the theater is supposed to be)? I’m not spanish and neither is my fiance. I just don’t know what to do! I just want something elegant and beautiful. I’m thinking my colors will be in the deep red to purple family with champagne and ivory accents. At least I think that is what will go best that weird green in the trim of the ballroom.
So, what do you think bees? Do you think just because I’m in a theater that I need to worry about having a theater themed wedding? I know I’m probably just being silly, but I’d really like some other people’s honest opinions on what they’d do. From decorating the ballroom, to centerpieces, stationary, favors….I. NEED. IDEAS.
