hello my lovely bees! i am having a problem picking my wedding band! (what a great problem right?)
My Fiance and I picked out an oval solitaire with a sapphire and diamond pave band. Love it! Here is a blurry ring pic (sorry camera phone) and the stock photo with a round stone.
Originally, we had planned on getting the matching band below:
Now I’m worried that the alternating stones won’t match up and it might drive me mad!! My coworker suggested i get a plain pave band of the same width as my current 2mm engagement ring, like the below. (she also mentioned that would make my e-ring stand out a lot)
however, i’m intrigued by the look of a twisted pave band! i just have no idea what it would look like with my ring. i also think i could be super happy wearing this by itself if the situation called for it. what do you think? my oval is up on a cathedral setting so there’s no worries about a gap (not that i would mind)
one more factor is price…i wish i could find a twisted pave band (platinum) that was closer to 1k! am i dreaming? (my Fiance is fine with us spending the money, he’s live and let live about it)

I think that sapphire and diamond wedding band is from Blue Nile, no? I know they have a great return policy, so how about purchasing it, seeing if the stones line up, and if not, returning it?

@akirasan: you are right and i totally thought about that! but all this thinking about plain pave has me wondering if the contrast might look REALLY cool! like i said, this is a pretty fun quandry 🙂 Thank you for the comment though!!

@fingerscrossed: Check out comment #2, picture #3. I love the twist band with a pave engagement ring! I also think a pave band with all diamonds or all sapphires would look beautiful as well.
Originally I thought the matching band would be nice, but the stones not lining up would drive me nuts as well! I like the previous suggestion of trying on the band and returning it if it doesn’t work out.

I voted straight pave because that’s what I have. Bias, I know! Here’s a pic of mine with my e ring:

I would recommend you go to a local jewelry store (Kay’s, Zales, Ect) and try on those styles, although they probably will not have a sapphire/diamond band. You can atleast get an idea of how they look before your purchase from BN

@fingerscrossed: Your ring is beautiful! If you like the matching band and your only concern is that it’ll spin and won’t match up, you could have the band soldered to your ering. That’s my plan as my band also has a clear matching point to my ering. Hope that helps!

I like the pave diamond band best. I have seen a number of sapphire and diamond rings and the ones that really stand out are diamond and sapphires in either the wedding band or e-ring and just diamonds in the other. It really makes the rings pop!
ETA: I also love the band with the twist but pairing it with a diamond/sapphire e-ring might be too distracting. The diamond and sapphires (imo) should be the main attraction.

LOVE the twisted pave, but I think your ring will look better with the straight pave. I agree with a pp to go into store, try on, take pics to refer back to after you get home.
