What about Waylon? Like Waylon Jennings. You could use Ryder and he could be RJ when he got older. Smile

I can think of whole bunch of old fashioned “manly” names but that middle name is hard…You could have the first name be Joseph perhaps? Just a thought… I am not into those trendy names either…. so I know how you feel. I think you should stay away from costume names that come off as obviously country, but sound tough and respectable…

Joseph Michael

Joseph Hudson

Jack Joseph

Michael Joseph

Clint Joseph

Patrick Joseph

Bill Joseph

William Joseph (This one sounds better to me)

or you can throw out Joseph all together and go with Tim Hudson

@Mrs.D:  oh gosh, that makes it even more difficult lol. Boy names are tough…Gaven or Wyatt perhaps?

If you like Hudson… I think your husband needs to compromise. Let him pick the next one! lol

So…. Hudson was ranked #74 on most popular names for 2012 and Wyatt was #41.  Just wanted to throw that in there… Not too common or uncommon.

@MeganRae1230:  That is so crazy to see you put Holt on your list!  That’s what I’m naming my son (due in APril).  It’s after my Father-In-Law, but I haven’t seen it much anywhere else!

I just looked in my copy of the Baby Name Wizard for sibling names for Hudson, since that’s your front-runner. It suggested you might like:

Landen

Shepard

Ryder (I saw you mention this before, although it was a no go.)

Gibson

Cooper

Since you also liked Ryder but ruled it out, I checked that name too:

Hogan

Cooper

Madden

Ranger

Garrick

There’s whole sections in the book on Place Names (like Hudson), Country and Western Names, and Macho Man Names (which Ryder falls under). Let me know if you want me to post some from a section! 🙂
