Like many a bride on this site, I am a two dress bride. Technically. I don’t own two yet, but I purchased one dress and have fallen in love with another. The issue is that my friends and fiance are all in favor of the first dress! I know it’s my wedding and all that, but I’m so torn between a dress that is fantastically flattering that everyone loves, or a dress that’s a bit more my taste and I’m kind of alone (and it’s also probably less flattering.) HELP!!!
I tried on probably 20 or 25 dresses before I purchased the dress below. I went to the running of the brides, and I found this gorgeous beaded a-line gown. It’s very flattering and my friends LOVED it. Honestly, so did everyone else – I kept having to hide it from other brides who wanted it! So after much diliberation and oohing and ahing from my friends and strangers, I bought this beaded dress:
The next day (yes of course it had to be the next day,) I tried on this gorgeous dress from White House Black Market. It’s so classic and elegant and I loved it. But of course I already have a dress. I’ve shown all my friends pictures and basically everyone loves the first dress. Should I just go with the dress that’s gorgeous and more flattering?

This is a toughie. The first gown is gorgeous with the intricate beading, and it’s very flattering, I agree. But you don’t seem completely happy about it. The second definitely has more va-va-voom. You seem really drawn to the latter gown… Maybe go with your gut, and sell the first gown so you don’t feel guilty about spending money on two gowns?

Oh I love the first dress and think it looks great on you!

Hmnn both dresses are lovely and personally the 2nd dress is more in my style but I think on you dress 1 is really much more flattering so its def. a difficult choice!

Definitely think the first dress is gorgeous.

I love the first dress and think it looks great on you! Plus, you already have it 🙂 If you really can’t get it out of your head though, you should do what will make you happy if you can afford it or can sell the first one–you don’t want to look back at the pictures and just think you didn’t love your dress.
PS you may want to add a poll so people can vote for which one they like better!

what’s your venue like? If you’re getting married in a grand cathedral or something similar, I’d definitely go with the first dress. If your venue is more casual, the second could be more appropriate.
In terms of personal preference, I think the first one is AMAZING!

I have to say, the 1st one looks absolutely stunning on you (and I’m usually not big on beadings). But go with the 2nd one if you don’t feel it is really you. The buttons detail on the side is just precious.

Tough choice for sure. I can see the dilemma here. I LOVE both dresses on you. But I think you’ll need to go with your gut feeling here (if you can). Can you sleep on it and see how you feel in a few days? Either way, you can’t go wrong, these are gorgeous dresses, and they both look great on you.

I love both on you! But, I like 2 better also!

The most important thing is: in which dress do YOU feel best?? There may be a thousand people who like a dress on you, but when YOU’re not feeling its ‘the dress’…choose another.
In my opinion, I like the second dress MUCH more than the one you’ve already purchased. You look like a classic beauty and I think a classic, simple dress suits you best.
The problem with dressed that have much ‘bling’going on -like the first one- is that the dress outshines the bride. You want people to think: wow, Graybee looks stunning, and wow, her dress looks like its made for her instead of: WOW, that is a fantastic dress and hey, miss Graybee happens to be in it!

Without even reading the explanation I first looked at the pictures of the 2 dresses and said “Oh my gosh, the first one for sure!” It just has so many UNIQUE aspects to it and the second just bores me in comparison…I then read your dilemma and am sorry that you are torn between the two, but I must say like your friends, family, and strangers that the first is my hands down pick because it stands out and makes you look great while the second can’t even hold a candle to the first.
EDIT: After looking again I don’t think dress 2 is boring, that was harsh, it’s just more classic…like something I’ve seen before, but I do really like the buttons on the side, that is precious and very elegant.

Go with the one YOU love! I have 2 as well and everyone loves the first one on me more, but I LOVE the second one, so it’s the one I’ll be wearing. It’s you who has to feel beautiful and confident in it, not your friends and family!
That being said, I adore the first one, but it’s totally my style. They both look great on you!
