So i am having my wedding at a castle like church, and the reception is going to be at a civic center. I am needing ideas of what to do between the ceremony and the reception while we take the rest of our pictures. I know most do a coctail hour, but we are not having the bar open until later in the night due to alot of my family being christians and also we have a lot of kids and I want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves. I am not sure what to do and would love some help
thanks fellow bees=)

You could still have the cocktail hour with just finger foods and soft drinks. 🙂 I wouldn’t mind but I am not a big drinker so the food is top on my list :).

Hmmm, is there a way that you could plan for a potato sack race or something at a park? Like, some sort of Easter/picnic type activities where it’s obvious that booze is not a requirement? You could do a badminton game or a mass croquet game or something and just have cheese and cookies with coffee available? How long are we talking?

I’d have a mocktail hour and nibbles – You could create a signiture mocktail for you and your new husband.
You could also have a video like a slide show with pictures of you two together. For your guests to watch.

This seems like it could be a perfect time to get some of your guests to get to know one another better. What about some kind of ice-breaker activity or game, like giving out pictures of the guests at random and making them seek eachother out, the person in the picture would have to explain what was going on at the time…something like that.
That would also go nicely with mocktails.
