Im planning to get a Forever one engagement ring with my bf when i get to ny. I live in overseas and will be in New york this summer for two weeks. Where should I buy mine, order online or from a store? What would you suggest me?
Is there a big difference with a diamond ring?
im planning to buy .75 four prong solitare or 1 carat six prong solitare f1
i would appreciate your suggestions 😊

ezra : Most Helzbergs sell C&C Forever One, so if you decide to get it in a store, I would check one of those first. I definitely recommend ordering online for most people because it’s less expensive, but it does take longer, so that may be an issue for you. If you are able to order online, I, like most bees, would recommend moissaniteco.com for their prices, their screening for good quality stones and the quality of their settings. If you’re only wanting a loose stone to have set when you get back home, I recommend fireandbrilliance.com which is where I ordered mine and my sister’s. I’m unsure of the quality of their ring settings but I’ve read lots of bees that rave about MoissaniteCo’s quality. For Fire & Brilliance, it only took about 2 days after ordering for them to ship the stone and then 2 days to get to me, so shipping was quick. You have lots of options open to you!

Macys sells moissanite as well but im not sure what brand. Of couse retail stores will be more expensive than online. Are you staying at a hotel or are you staying with friends/family? I suggest moissaniteco.com if you want to order online. As long as it’s not custom. I’d explain to them your travel and your timeline for shipping.

thanks for your messages.🙏🏼 Actually i will be in DC for a month and then NY for two weeks at my friend’s. So ordering online would be ok. I will need to find out my finger size and the size of the stone then. 😊

Hello! I got a moissy ring off Esty and I LOVE IT. I found a jeweler that worked with the specific stone I wanted and had great reviews. I photoshopped a design of my ring that I wanted, wrote down the type of stone (make & size), gave it to my now Fiance, and it turned out PERFECT! I would find look into an Esty jeweler you like and message them to make sure they work with your type of stone. Usually, the page will list it too.
edit: I love my ring. And no one can tell it’s not a diamond. I tell them it’s moissy anyway because it has such a neat backstory (being found on a comet and recreated with SCIENCE!). It shines even when I don’t clean it for two months.

ezra : I think Brilliant Earth just opened a new showroom in DC. They didn’t have any moissanites set in their rings when I went to see them, but they did have several that were loose. This would be a good opportunity for you to see all their rings in person, and see what their moissanites look like. I had one earlier this year, but returned it, because I’m hoping for a hearts and arrows moissanite. They also had a bunch of sizes of stones in their rings, so you could get a feel for what you like. When I returned it, my sales person said they expect to get the H&A cut in stock soon – in the mean time, I’m impatiently waiting for our ring to be built, we took the picture at the bottom and modified a few things like the head, and IDK what else – because my guy won’t let me see the drawings!
You can see the big case in the background of this photo, so they have a lot for you to look at – they had two viewing rooms with different rings in each, and the sales staff would go find a ring I wanted specifically to try on (I went with a list of like 12 I HAD To see).
This is my video from the ring I got in person (they didn’t have it when I went in to the showroom in San Francisco) – sorry I talk alot you can mute me and just look at the pretty stone!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c-jKlIO7HI&t=19s

In NYC, you can go to Lauren B or this wonderful little family shop called Bianca Jewelers- I’ve only been to them once and they were sooo nice, knowledgable, and didn’t pressure me at all to make a purchase that day.
Stay away from the diamond district- there are so many scammers there and the customer service is high pressure and so shady. It’s like the Chinatown for jewelry

Here is my 7.5mm C&C colorless, round brilliant Moissanite from Diamond Dove Jewelry on Etsy. I absolutely love it! Ring is 4.5 Platinum twist band with diamonds. Pictures do not capture how beautiful it is.
