- Wedding: May 2011
Let me start out by saying that I have SEVERAL nieces and nephews. So does my future Hubby. I am using the youngest six of *mine* in the wedding: 11 and 10 yr old boys are lighting candles, 7 and 9 year old boys are ring bearers and 4 and 3 yr old nieces are flower girls. I wanted to use them all because I’m very close to them and *want* them to be a part of it–a lot of my girlfriends are not able to be bridesmaids b/c of distance, so I guess I’m trying to make up for it somehow, using other people I love, even if they *are* “little” people.
My Fiance has 5 neices and nephews. The youngest is 1 1/2, so she’s out. The oldest is 21, or so, and she’s out. The 12 year old, apparently, doesn’t want to be in the wedding, caz she’s in that weird stage, so we’re having her be in charge of taking photos for our guest book (separate from what our photographer will be doing).
I just can’t figure out a good role for the 9 year old, who already asked me what she was going to wear as a flowergirl in my wedding. Well, her mom told me to ignore her and it was fine it she wasn’t a flower girl. She just doesn’t fit into the age range of the other two, and I think it might be kind of funny looking with 3 flower girls and only 2 bridesmaids anyway. I thought about having her be a junior flower girl, but the prob with that is that my bridesmaid dress maker doesn’t do junior flowergirls dresses, and I want the dresses to match.
I keep trying to figure out something special she can do, but haven’t hit on it yet. And the wedding is just over 3 months away. Help???
