(Closed) Need ideas for cocktail hour!

Are the photos at either venue, or somewhere else? (And if travel to a 3rd venue is included, I can’t imagine it taking less than an hour).

Yes, have alcohol available (unless you’re doing a dry wedding, but it doesn’t like it). Some people just prefer that. And some light food (Hors d’oevres or however it’s spelt).

I think it’s unnecessary to have activities, because I don’t think adults need to be entertained every minute of the day. But then, our photos were at the reception venue so people could either drink, chat among themselves, or watch the photo session. (Or all 3!).

@misscupcake2012:  It’s not so much that photos are interesting to watch, it’s just that everyone is in the one place, so they could also talk to (e.g.) our parents instead of all the family being at the photo location.

Another advantage is that people can come and go between photos and cocktail hour. e.g. family members who were only in a few photos could come down for their photos, then go back up for a drink – or fetch me a (non alcohlic) drink!
