Y’all I am in a pinch. DH and I are renewing our 10 year anniversary next year. I want to get the Casablanca 1985 gown, but have been told it takes 6 months to get in so I need to order it asap. I am trying to figure out how the dress is sized. I was told that if you wear an 8 you will need to get a 12 and if you were a 6 you will need to get a size 10. Can anyone tell me if this is true? I am in the process of dropping a few pounds and do not want to get fitted for it at the moment. I am feeling stressed over the ordering issue.

i really wouldn’t order until you’ve been measured.
i’m roughly a 6 street size and i ordered my casablanca (not the 1985) in a 10, to fit my waist. it ended up gigantic in the bust (of course), but was able to be altered.
mine took about 4 months to come in.

I just picked mine up today! It’s a beaaauuutiful dress! Casablanca makes their dresses custom fit for your body. So when you order it, they measure bust, hips, and waist and Casablanca makes the dress specifically to those measurements, not based on regular dress sizes. It took mine exactly 6 months to come in.

So is it unlikely to be able to just walk in a boutique and buy one off the hanger? I think I will be closer to a size 8. So I am guessing I would need a 12?
