- Wedding: October 2010
My fiance and I are trying to plan a small library-themed wedding in VA. We are considering the Fairfax Old Town Hall as our ceremony and reception location, and are having trouble imagining the space accurately since we are currently in Indiana and are planning from afar. Since I will not be able to see the place for myself until June I wanted to ask if others have had or plan to have their wedding at the OTH and if you would be willing to share any pictures or thoughts you may have of the venue.
Also, my fiance and I would like to have both the ceremony and the reception on the second floor (which serves as a library and art gallery). I love all the bookshelves but am concerned about the Art Flats that are used as display walls for the pictures/paintings. Apparently these have to remain in the room even when an event is going on. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make these art flats less conspicuous? For those brides that have already held their ceremonies there, did the art flats take away from ambience of the room?
