We have both, prefer Netflix for older stuff (no commercials) but Hulu has a lot of the newer stuff.  It’s $16 a month to have both which is way cheaper than cable.

We also just added a few seasons of our favorite shows (Walking Dead, Workaholics, and Mad Men) through Vudu which is around $2 an episode or around $25 for a season pass.  The only show we can’t get but absolutely want right now is Game of Thrones, season 3.

I signed up for Netflix instant and ended up canceling it (because it’s lots of old stuff and I wasn’t really interested in much of the content/old seasons of shows).  The nice thing is you aren’t on any sort of contract and can cancel at any time… I’m pretty sure Hulu Plus offers a 7-day trial.  I’m planning to go with Hulu Plus.

ALSO – I just learned that Amazon had live streaming for Prime members… totally worth it, IMO!

Both!  (And use Apple TV, love!)

If you want to see newer shows, I’d recommend Hulu.  Netflix has the best catalog of content if you’re trying to catch up on older shows or if you prefer movies over TV.  Amazon Prime also lets you purchase episodes a la carte (including brand new episodes).  Some of their content is free with Prime membership too (although it’s usually just 1 or 2 seasons of a series). We got rid of satellite a few weeks ago and it’s been great.

@beachbride1216:  I agree with this. My dad has Netflix at his house and it seems like there isn’t a lot of newer stuff on it.

Do both. The cost is negligible compared to cable. Hulu Plus is 7.99 and so is Netflix so it’s $16 per month. On Hulu Plus, you can keep up with a lot of the shows that you love and Netflix is great for movies. It is totally worth it to do both and ditch that cable!

If there’s shows currently on the air that you like to watch, Hulu pretty much wins no contest since Netflix doesn’t post new episodes the day after they air the way Hulu does. With Netflix you have to wait until the whole season is over.

@Kimberley25:  We’re doing Netflix but watch current programs on Hulu. We decided against Hulu+ because we can stay pretty up to date on the few current ones we watch and I hate the idea of paying for Hulu+ and still having to sit through commercials. Vudu for specific cable shows is a great idea. We do love Breaking Bad & Walking Dead.

Another thing to consider is HBO GO. Ours is through the Xbox ( if you have one or another console) and it’s pretty awesome.

Netflix. We don’t have either, but Hulu charges you and you still get commercials. You need to pay MORE to get less/no commercials. A rip off. I use Amazon instant prime, since I have a prime membership. The selection for free movies with that isn’t huge, but you can watch TV shows there.

We used to have both netflix and hulu+. Now we just have hulu+ that way we can watch shows the next day if we miss it on the tv. We also have rabbit ears and pick up a good chunk of stations abc, cbs, nbc, fox, wb, pbs and some other randoms.
