I think if you’re the type who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup to begin with, you can just pump it up a notch for your wedding day, but still look like you! I wouldn’t go overboard with the makeup either. Btw, you already look great in your photos, so another reason not to cover yourself with a ton of makeup. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also got married in Minnesota in August, and it was super hot (but not humid, luckily). I don’t usually wear much makeup either, so here’s what I did that day:

  • Primer: Monistat Soothing Care Chafing gel. It was only about $6 at Target (I think in the “feminine hygiene” aisle!) and works like a charm. This can be used on eyelids/eye area as well to hold eye makeup in place. I like this stuff because it kept my oily skin at bay and helped the foundation last longer, even in the hot weather.
  • Splurged on Make Up Forever HD foundation at Sephora. When I went to buy it the first time, they didn’t have my color in stock so they gave me a little sample, which actually was probably enough for the wedding day! Maybe go try some samples at Sephora or a makeup counter and see what you like, you definitely don’t have to spend $$ on this, especially since every brand is different for every person.
  • Set this all with powder I got from here, also really cheap and I still have a ton of it.
  • For your lip color, I’d suggest looking for a lip stain or something similar. You might still want to touch up once or twice during the day, but you can do that on your bathroom breaks. I used Nars lipstick and it had great coverage and lasted a long time, but I think it was a bit over $20. I also like Clinique’s chubby sticks, which I think are under $20.

Since you mentioned you aren’t a big makeup person, I’d recommend just going to Sephora anyway, and see what they have, play around with the colors, etc., even if you aren’t going to buy any/many products there. If you can go early on the weekend or even a weekday, they won’t be as busy and more eager to help you!

Good luck!

Your dress is lovely! On top of the things that jduck84 posted, I’d see if your local Target has ELF High Definition Finishing Powder- it’s an almost exact replica of MAC’s, I believe and it’s about $3. It’ll be the last thing on your face because it will smooth your pores and give your face a nice matte finish. It also makes your skin sooooooo soft.

I have green eyes too and I tend to use a lot of browns and a lot of purples- I’d suggest brown for you because of your hair, but you could also try just a bit of a dark brownish purple just in the outer crease of your eye with a light cappucino or cream color on your lid. I use the Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow Palettes, but they’re around $24 each, so I understand if that’s not within your budget.

Wet N Wild and NYX (drugstore) have wonderfully pigmented eyeshadows, and again at Target, ELF has a 100 shade palette for $10. I haven’t tried the anti-chafing gel as primer, but I adore ELF’s $1 eyeshadow primer- I’ve tried the Urban Decay $20 primer and I like ELF’s better!

Hope this helped! I can recommend a few eye makeup looks if you’d like.

Also if your have an ULTA near you they carry al kinds of brands from expensive to cheap. They carry NYX which is great and really inexpensive. Also like was commented above I would check out some youtube tutorials for inexpensive wedding makeup, I am sure you will get a lot of results!

For the shine, I would definitely invest in Bare Minerals Mineral Veil.

Get a primer for your lids and face to help the makeup stay on all day.

Those are the 2 things I would invest in.  The rest can all be ‘cheap’ from your local drugstore – thing maybelline or loreal and buy one get one half off.

Go with a natural pale pink eyeshadow, that will bring out the green in your eyes.

Go with black for liner and mascara because it will show in the pictures better.

Consider buying oil blotting wipes for the day-of.  And in advance, try using stridex wipes.  I think they work wonders for getting rid of acne, thought I really don’t see ANY on your cheeks, I have no idea what you’re smoking.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck!
