While in NY this coming Christmas my 2 bridesmaids that live there have the bright idea to go wedding dress shopping while I am there since they wont get to experience many wedding shopping days with me (I live in Texas). While my first thought of this was really sweet and that I get to share this great memory with them I am just not motivated to try and get to the gym to start toning up. I have gained about 30 pounds since taking my office job and would love to loose it before the wedding but I was thinking I’d have at least til this summer to get it off. If I could even loose 10 pounds before Christmas I think that might make me feel a bit more excited about this experience. Any other future brides out there not so excited about their wedding dress shopping?? And any advise for some motivation to loose a little weight in such a short period of time?

I’m sooo not looking forward to it either! I’ve told my BMs that I don’t even want to think about dress shopping until late Jan/early Feb just so I can have some more time to get my diet under control (during the holidays will make it 10 times tougher!!) b/c I already have a pretty good workout routine.
In terms of motivation, I totally understand. Most of the time I head to the gym after work and it takes every ounce of strength to walk through their front door instead of going straight home after a long day! In my mind I have every excuse in the book – I didn’t sleep well the night before, I have a headache, etc. Still, I have to say for workout fiends, everything they say about endorphins is true. After 5-10 minutes in spin class, as grueling as it is, I’m sooo into it. And afterwards I have so much more energy!
The first few times will be tough, but once you have a schedule and routine, it will be the same as do everything else on your calendar, and if you miss just one day you planned for, you’ll actually be kind of bummed.
