If budget isn’t an issue check out Casa Casuarina in South Beach.  It’s Versace’s old house and it is AMAZING!  The events are catered by Barton G, and if you’ve ever eaten at his restaurant, you know they do a spectacular job with presentation (think swordfish served on actual swords).

Barton G has a restaurant separate from Casa Casuarina that might be a great place to rent out for a “cocktail party”.  If you did it on a weekday, the guests wouldn’t suspect a thing!

However, I think having an event there would easily run you over $100k 🙁

Deering Estate is also a pretty place, but is a bit pricey as well.

I’ll keep thinking…Are you wanting to stay in Dade County??

Well I got married at Douglas Entrance and it was pretty affordable for a place with character  (37th Avenue and SW 8th Street).  Definetly has lots of character.  The same can be said for the Coral Gable’s Woman’s Club which is about a block away from Douglas Entrace.

You should give Red Fish Grill a call.  We chose it as our venue for its great ambiance and awesome view of the city skyline.  The outdoor patio would be great for cocktails and you can have the ceremony there, too.  I’m not sure what you might be planning for the reception (cocktails/hors d’ouevres only, buffet, or sit-down).  We had an all-inclusive package with a sit-down dinner.  I wrote a little about it here.

You may want to try the Koubek Mansion. They have a lawn/garden area that accomodates about 200. I don’t know much more information and I’m trying to find out more to see if we can have our wedding there too! There is no harm in giving them a call.

Their website is http://www.koubekmansion.com/

Let me know if youhear anything and good luck!

Check out The Links @ Key Biscayne on the Crandon Golf Course. That’s where I got married and they have many options available price wise and set up wise. Its a hidden jewel not too many people know about and I highly recommend it. The staff and Andreina were great on my wedding day! You can set up the cocktail party in the courtyard and then proceed with the wedding at sunset!

Hey Ms.Guava-Tini,

Is there anyone in specific to speak to? I am trying to have a small wedding and I love the pictures they have up on their website. I would love to know more about the Links.

Talk to Andreina, she’s the one that was there when I had my wedding. They might have a new wedding planner by now but the wedding planner left halfway through my planning so the executive chef, Andreina helped me out. You should check out my pictures – I truly loved it and really enjoyed having my wedding there. We had 75 guests, wedding on the golf course, cocktail in the courtyard and reception in the restaurant and outdoor lounge continued in the courtyard. Let me know if you need anything else.

If you need someone to drap the hallway leading to the courtyard I recommend Dreams & Designs, Ana Hinajosa, she was great.

Well, not sure if you’ll be interested in a hotel ballroom, but we are getting married at the Newport Beachside Resort in Sunny Isles Beach and so far they’ve been great to work with.

We had our tasting last month and the food was delicious, so were the drinks. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for a hotel on the beach. It’s not in the trendy South Beach area or Ft. Lauderdale, actually located halfway between both…but still on the beach and close to Aventura and Bal Harbour. The staff is very nice and accomodating and from the reviews previous brides on here have left for them they are consistently helpful.

I’m getting married at Villa Woodbine in Coconut Grove…Its the Vizaya “feel” but half the price (its about $7000 to rent for a Saturday for just the reception plus food/drink). Its mostly outdoors so you have to pick a month that the weather wont ruin but its SOOO gorgeous…I’m attaching a pic.

I also looked at The Cocoplum Women’s Club…pretty reasonable ($100 pp includes food, open bar, flowers, photog, cake AND DJ!) though their planner wasnt good about getting back to me so I decided on Woodbine.

Another suggestion someone above also said is Red Fish Grill – also has a GREAT outdoor space and is crazy “reasonablly priced”..something like $17,000 for up to 120 ppl I think? nuts! and its on a beach and indoors at the same time…gorgeosus! I’d also check out The Rusty Pelican…though they only book certain months of the year I think.

Good luck!
