Indonesia? Bali? Thailand? Turkey? Egypt? Canary Islands? Barbados? How far are you looking to travel? 🙂

I have to admit my geography on Central and South America is really poor and I haven’t an idea where would be safe (and fun!) to travel.

Traveling always poses risks, especially if you’re pregnant. Every place has its own concerns. Zika is only among many and you can protect yourself; but I totally understand wanting to cross out at least one risk off the tropical-disease bingo.

New Zealand?  It’ll be summer there, it’s gorgeous, and easy to relax or do as much hiking/activities as you like.

My friend went to South Africa for her honeymoon and loved it!

This may not be as “exciting” as others, but I’m always down for San Fran/Napa/Sonoma. To me, there’s nothing more relaxing that sitting on a patio overlooking a vineyard.

samira86:  I’m in the same boat. I’m so stressed out about it. Our plan was to go to Costa Rica in June, but that’s pretty much off the table now. My Fiance wants someplace warm, foreign and natural, and I’m a pretty horrible flyer and don’t want to be on the plane for 10+ hours. I’m feeling like we’re SOL. I’ve considered banking some of his sperm and just taking our chances. If he gets bit and tests positive for Zika, at least we can use his banked sperm?

Look into the Canary Islands, Spain. They’re an archipelago; I would focus on Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Chile. Last time I checked…it was the only place down south that was not marked on the zika map. And idk about Hawaii, wasnt remember.

May I suggest eastern Canada… the are so many beautiful things to see in Prince Edward Island (Beaches), Nova Scotia Especially Cape Breton), and also Newfoundland.

We are getting married next summer and were planing to go to the Riviera Maya but is Zika doesnt get lost by then we will either have to go to eastern Canada or just do a local cottage as going anywhere else is not in the budget. We are in Toronto.

samira86:  I was thinking, oh, I could wait to TTC until a couple of months after the honeymoon, since they seem to know that the virus leaves blood within a few weeks. Since they still don’t know how long it can stay in semen, I thought we could have some zika free sperm on hand jic. IDK. Probably better just to avoid the zika areas. They just seem so great!

samira86:  My FH and I just went on vacation to Kauai and loved it! Zika is not there, there are plenty of beaches but also plenty of jungle-esque activities (Many scenes from the Jurassic Park movies were filmed there FYI). You can do different tours of the Na Pali Coast, hike trails near Waimea Canyon, go ziplining, horseback riding, explore quaint little towns, go to a luau, tour plantations by tubing canals or by a train, taste rum made on the island for free,  etc. etc. etc.! We had an absolute blast and I would love to go back.

There is one main road around the island and it all feels so foreign and distant from the rest of the U.S., but no passport required. And the best part for us was the fact that there are feral chickens everywhere. They eat most of the bugs so we had no bug issues whatsoever!

rainy578:  Noooo!  I thought a press release from Feb 16 was pretty darn reliable info 🙁  Well this sucks.  We are not TTC but still want to avoid it!  Oh well – I guess we’ll just take our chances.  Thanks for letting me know.

Alaska? Is Australia on the list?
