I need some opinions! Here is a pic of my dress! Alfred Angelo 2444. (Don’t have a pic of me as I’m at work)
I am planning on purchasing a sash to go with it. The following are the sashes I’ve been looking at on Etsy!
This is my absolute fave, but the seller is unavailable right now 🙁
Here are some other ones I think would go good with the dress!
OR, the seamstress at the bridal shop said she could even take the flowers off if I wanted. So there’s always the idea of doing that, and adding more of a “blingy” belt and a nice applique on the hip area. But not sure how much work that would entail and I really don’t want to spend a ton in alterations. Our venue is at a historic home with a beautiful garden area so the flowers sort of fit in with the setting.
What do you ladies think?? Opinions?
ETA — the flowers on the dress have little pearls in them.

Belts are overrated and a trend I don’t personally understand. I think your dress looks lovely as-is. I actually think a belt might make it look odd, with that sweep up on the side.
That said, the first belt you covet is pretty awesome, too. I think the second wouldn’t “match” as the flower looks like a totally different material.

Love the first belt! Can you tell me which etsy seller it is?

The shop owner is BehindTheSeamsBridal. It states she is taking a short break and it says she SHOULD be back by 10/15, so I’m totally being a stalker and praying she comes back lol!

Oooooooh i dont know…your dress is absolutely gorgeous!!! Im loving the simplicity, with the ruching, and the flowers…that is an amazing dress girl! I personally wouldn’t do a belt..but that’s just me. I think the dress & a veil will be plenty. You don’t want to take away from what the dress is already doing & displaying. I like it just the way it is…so pretty.

No sash , no extra floweres , certainly no bling, dress just as it is, so elegant and chic.

i think the second sash would work, it is pretty but doesn’t take too much away from your already gorgeous dress. 🙂

I love your dress. I personally wouldn’t wear a belt with it. It kind of chops it up in my opinion. However if YOU want a belt go for it. I definitely like the first belt, the others don’t look as quality to me. Hopefully she comes back tomorrow!

I don’t think you should add a sash to this dress, it would be too much. But, if you really want a sash I’d just pick a plain ribbon over something with flowers – flowers on the sash compete with the flowers on the dress.

I think the first belt is stunning, however out of 2 and 3 I prefer 2. I personally like the flowers on your dress, I think it’s a nice touch. If you don’t end up finding the right belt, have you consider a more bold/chunky necklace? This may give you the extra something you are looking for. Overall, beautiful dress!

i am a fan of belt #2! its eye catching but not over the top, and seems to really compliment the elegant simplicity of the gown. gorgeous! 🙂

At last, I’m not alone! My dress had a sash because it was designed with one, but I get a little tired of girls adding “blingy” belts to their beautiful dresses! What happened to simplicity?

I agree. no belt. Or loose the other flowers and add a belt. otherwise too much going on.

Thanks for all your input ladies. I never really considered NOT buying a belt, since the sales rep gave me one right off the bat LOL.
We’ll see. Hoping to decide on something within the next month!
