Absolutely keep them! Our friends wedding had a very similar set up with huge flowers coming out the top.  I was able to see the people across the table perfectly with maybe just having to shift slightly over to the right or left when speaking to them.  The height isnt the issue it would be the width and these are not so wide that you cant see around them.  Everyone at our table was family so we all talked to eachother fine.  Do the centerpiece on a round table and have people sit across from eachother and I bet youll see its fine.

Pfft. They’re fine. Tell your mom the internet experts told you so. You got them for a deal and they’re so stunningly elegant: use them! People will mostly be eating at the tables anyway and saving the conversation for after dinner, when they’ll just end up sitting in little groups as they choose.

Why not compromise? You do have a lot of flowers in those cylinders. I can see callas and some other white flower. If you keep the bulk of the flowers above or below the normal height at which people make eye contact across the table, you will be fine.

MrsDamiani:  Keep them! It’s not a brick wall you can see through them and once you actually put them on table you can play around with placement.

LOL at Honey2Bee ….the internet experts!

I personally think they are very pretty and to be honest I don’t think it is a problem. My centerpeices as large bouquets and people will have to talk around them as well, at least yours they can kind of see through πŸ˜‰

MrsDamiani:  I think they’re pretty and would use them for like the cake table and around the venue, but I think they’ll make conversation across tables difficult for your guests.

In the nicest way…your mother has been overuled these are amazing!! you would be silly to get rid of them, as people have said if they want to talk they can move their heads, stand up, move chairs!

KEEP them πŸ™‚

Keep them! They look great. I find that at a 5 foot round, I’m talking to the people next to me, not across the table from me. But also, I’d move my head. Haha. πŸ™‚

MrsDamiani:  Haha I say keep them too! We are having these 4 ft “trees” made to go on our tables as centrepieces but I am just expecting guests to talk to their neighbors and not the guests sitting across our huge 10 person tables- what size (how many people) are your tables?
