WrylyPoetic :  Wow, they did a number on that band…yikes! But I have to say I love the new band you picked out. It adds a little pizzazz without competing with your stunning engagement ring.

It’s definitely a little different, but still falls within the realm of traditional! I think you should go for it. I would agree that it would be great as a part of a stack… Bummer that your jeweler is being such a scrooge. Get your band, then never go back there again!

If it makes you smile it’s good. I agree that it would look especially good in a stack ๐Ÿ™‚

That would look so pretty stacked with a thin pave diamond band or with a plan band! If it made you smile then I say go for it! It’s a shame they did such crappy milgrain work, otherwise that band would have looked beautiful with your oval solitaire.

WrylyPoetic :  wow, their craftsmanship is terrible, whatever you get from them I think it would be wise to have them order it in your correct size rather than having them resize something on hand so that something similar doesn’t happen again. That doesn’t make any sense. I have done ring resizing, they shouldn’t have touched the face of the ring at all, and if it’s a full eternity it’s not recommended to resize those, it should have been ordered or made in your size. To me it looks like whoever worked on your original ring got over zealous when polishing and polished the migrain right off and then an absolute shit job of trying to cover up/correct thier screw up.

I think it’s kind of perfect, actually. It’s a little different but not weird. The stones on the band line up really nicely with your Ering, I think.

WrylyPoetic :  Oi vey! Well it will be good to wash your hands of him! He should not be in business with service like that!

WrylyPoetic :  I love your new band! I’ve done the same thing where I kept coming back to something I loved even though it “wasn’t my style”. My mom said- if you keep coming back to it and love it, then it is your style and you just don’t know what your style is. How do moms get so wise?

So I say go for it. Especially since wedding bands generally aren’t crushingly expensive, if you’re worried that it’s trendy it wouldn’t be too tragic if you fell out of love with it in 5 years. If you want something sentimental you could always get a plain band that he gives you on the wedding day- a plain band is good to have in general.

The wedding band they ruined is the wedding band I’m getting so I definitely feel the tragedy there ๐Ÿ™ but I have to believe that they’d possibly pay better attention and not screw it up so bad the second time?? To play devils advocate, the wedding band you had originally picked out is a completely different style from the more sleek style of the new wedding band. So make sure thats the “feeling” you want.

WrylyPoetic :  I think the black stones make your ring set very interesting, it totally works! That said, I love your original band!! That’s what I wanted originally but couldn’t find one in stores to try out. Why can’t you order another eye bead band? Did you buy it from a different store?

WrylyPoetic :  I can’t believe they’re still in business! That’s crazy. Can you order it from them and then take it elsewhere to have it resized/repaired in the future? I know it stinks to lose the “free” repairs warranty but honestly you’re going to have such anxiety any time you bring it to them anyway that it’s probably not worth it, and resizing really isn’t that expensive anyway.

Thats only if you really can’t get the old one out of your head though. I do really like the new one and think it’s great with your band. A little color can be nice ๐Ÿ™‚ even if the color is black lol.
