Hi Bees —
I need opinions. We have to stick with long banquet tables for our reception in order to fit all 350 of our guests. I want to do gold plate chargers (on black tablecloths) with a simple/taller centerpiece. I’m concerned that the long tables will look a little too cluttered.
I haven’t been to a reception that had the longer tables with chargers. I want a classy look but I don’t want my guests to feel overwhelmed by a cluttered table.
What do you think ….. Class or Cluttered?

I love the look of chargers and don’t think it’s cluttered. As long as your guests aren’t super close it should work perfectly.

I like them and we are using them and I think what you described sounds good.
We are doing an ivory linen with a mahogony wood charger to give a little bit of seperation between the table linen and the white dishes.
I think it’s classy!

@PinkMagnolia: Agreed! I was told by my venue that if we were using chargers than we could only have 8 people to a 60” round (anymore than than that seems crowded even if you aren’t using the chargers!).
