Alright so here’s the story –
I bought Dress #1. I love it, I think it’s beautiful and very complimentary on my body…but…I don’t really feel like a bride in it. I don’t feel like it’s special enough. I’m already adding a mantilla lace cathedral length veil and a beautiful jewelled belt to it, but…I can’t help but feel that your dress shouldn’t NEED things to make you fall in love with it – it should just be perfect on it’s own!
Dress #2 is the one I originally fell in love with. I felt like Scarlett O’Hara in it and I LOVED it. Probably my dream dress. Problem – my Mum HATED it, and my fiance dislikes tulle. But it has always been on my mind. I know it’s not as complimentary as the first dress…there’s no argument there…but…I just can’t get it out of my head.
Dress #3 is the dress that we found that is kind of a mix of the two. The dress that I tried on was nearly 6 sizes too small so it really doesn’t do it justice on me, but still, it’s way less complimentary than the other two. But I liked it.
My wedding is Classy Romantic Country. We’re getting married outside under huge maple trees in the fall.
What do I do? I’m so heartbroken that I’m not in love with the dress I bought, and even more heartbroken that the one I actually did love is one that two of the most important people in my life really don’t like.
Please leave a comment as to why you chose what you did…THANK YOU SO MUCH.

#1 looks best on you. But, if it’s not bridal enough for you, keep looking!

Did you say dress #3 was 6 sizes too small?

First one is definitely the most flattering IMO. But if you don’t love it keep looking.

Definitely the orginal! Imagine the gorgeous jewelry you can wear with it! Dress 2 is okay, but it’s a little too “bubbly” for my liking. Dress 3 makes you look round b/c of the horizontal stripes (please don’t take that in an unkind way). Best Wishes!!

Honestly I think dress one makes you look most like a bride. It’s very beautiful!

I think confidence is what makes a beautiful bride- choose one you will feel beautiful in.

I really really like #1. I think it flatters you so nicely, and it’s still very bridal even though it’s simple. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with adding a jeweled belt to it to add a little bling. I think it looks absolutely gorgeous on you!

#1 is the most flattering on you! I dont think 2 or 3 do much for your figure at all. Go with your gut – the original one you bought!

Can you add a bigger petticoat under dress 1 to give it more of the ballgown feel of the other 2?
Dress 1 really looks great on you.

@Gerbera: Haha yes – it looks like it’s coming off of me because it wasn’t done up at ALL at the back…it wouldn’t even come close! Ha ha. I can see the confusion though.
I’m a size 14, and the dress was a size 8. It was a bit hilarious.

I think #1 is most flattering on you out of the 3.

I think dress #1 looks the best on you. And if it’s the bigger ball gown look you like of the other 2 then @KatNYC2011: made a good suggestion.

@KatNYC2011: I was thinking of doing that…I think I might (if I stay with this one). I do like the ballgown feel…hopefully when it comes in though the skirt will be more full. Sometimes sample dresses don’t show volume… 🙂

I’ll echo what others said, #1 looks the best on you, but if you don’t like it you should look for something that you love.
