I’m not sure what the “crushed ice” thing is, but I wanted to say your ring is beautiful!! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a lovely ring and you’re not planning to sell it…..so what other people think of it is kind of irrelevant. I think it looks gorgeous! Wear it with pride.

I have a cushion (and have done a ton of cushion shopping & research)…I’m not sure what the “crushed ice” appearance is, or what you’ve read is “undesireable” about cushions. If you clarify what you mean, I can probably give my input ๐Ÿ™‚

Also: I think your ring is beautiful.

Are you reading that cushions are “less desirable” than their round counterparts because the table is generally smaller? Because they show more color than rounds?

Honey, it shouldn’t matter to you if other people “desire” your cut or not.

The most “desired” cut today–by far and away–is the round brilliant. But I’m guessing that since you didn’t choose that, you’re not jonesing to switch, are you?

You’re far too concerned about the ring’s social value. What’s its value to YOU?

I have a radiant cut e-ring and I love it! Radiants as well as cushions are considered to have the “crushed ice”  look to them and I think they are gorgeous! All that means is what it sounds like, that they’re so sparkly it looks like a bucket of crushed ice. I believe that term came from seeing how many facets the stone has. I have no idea where you got the idea that that would be undesirable. I think you’re ring is stunning!!!

I think you are causing yourself unwarranted stress. I adore cushions, and that rock is gorgeous.

When we went looking at rings we looked at both the cushion brilliant and the cushion modified brilliant; I could see a slight difference, but loved them both. They both looked beautiful and sparkly and I love the shape of the cushion cut…I love the verticle rectangle look.  My fiance ended up purchasing the cushion brilliant because it had the best color and clarity that fit in his budget (jeweler recommeded >H and better than SI1).

I think your diamond is beautiful…and sparkly and eye catching like it’s supposed to be.  If you love it, that’s all that matters! The only difference is the modified is a tad bit cheaper for the weight…I love my .87 carat, but I would have been okay with a slightly bigger modified cushion as well!
