nycoleman : no it doesn’t matter much that it’s zoomed in. The uterine tissue and gestational sac are very clear and well defined so the measurements would be accurate. I don’t deal with at home pregnancy tests so for that I’m just not much help, I apologize. Your serial hcg is going to be your best indicator as to if a pregnancy is progressing. Did they do one the day of your ultrasound? I would get your blood drawn next week and see how your hormones are doing before getting another ultrasound. I know the last thing anyone wants to hear is that these things take time to figure out but that’s really the best answer.

nycoleman : are they testing your HCG levels? If not, I would call on Monday and request it. You get a blood draw and then another one 48 hours later. They should be rising substantially if the pregnancy is going well.
I’m sorry to say this same thing happened to me – I should have been 8-9 weeks and the zygote measured at 5.5 weeks. It was a missed miscarriage, and it was confirmed by my HCG blood draws.
I sure hope that’s not happening to you. I would definitely request the tests so that you don’t have to live in limbo.

Hey OP, sorry your going through this! Are your cycles regular? I have a long cycle of 35-36 days so when I first went in for my HCG test and even the ultrasound a few weeks later the doctors were telling me that I was only 1 week along (HCG test) when I thought I was 3-4 weeks pregnant and then my ultrasound said 6 weeks when I thought I was already 9 weeks along. I picked up my pregnancy super early coz I track my symptoms normally with pregnancy but I’m now 20+2 and tracking along. Fingers crossed you have a sticky bean in there and a healthy pregnancy!

threecrazycats : Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
KittyYogi : *sigh*. I was supposed to get bloodwork done last week, but they never put in the order. I have an appointment this Thursday, but I might go to an urgent care or something today and get initial readings and then I have something to compare it to on Thursday. I’m sorry for your loss ):
futuremrsv0819 : This is a tricky question to explain. I was on the pill for 12 straight years. So I had a regular 28 day cycle. When visiting family for the holidays, my pharmacy screwed up and never send my prescription over. So I though, no big deal. I’ll just get back on it after my period so I don’t mess with my hormones too much. Well, that never came haha. Your story definitely gives me some hope. Thank you for sharing!

nycoleman : I wish you well, just chiming in to comment on your birth control pill comment. When you are on the pill you aren’t actually ovulating, everyone has the “perfect 28 day cycle” because it’s a withdrawal bleed. It’s perfectly reasonable that your dates are off and once the bcp was stopped you had a true cycle and managed to get pregnant without having a proper menstration first. Good luck.

anev : Thank you! The nurse said the same thing, which makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is the 5w+3 timeline because I got a super strong positive test on what wokldve been conception/ovulation week. And I was already experiencing symptoms on that week as well: severe breast tenderness and extreme fatigue. That’s what lead me to take a test in the first place.
Am I right to be questioning this or am I totally over thinking it?! I’m seriously going absolutely insane. I didn’t sleep a single second last night.

nycoleman : I’ll be honest, I’m concerned about your timeline too. Unfortunately I’ve had friends with very strong betas have early miscarriages. Fingers crossed your baby will show good progression either with blood tests or serial ultrasound.

anev : At least I’m not crazy… I’m current at an urgent care getting HCG levels done because I cannot wait until Monday.
Im really, really hoping that it was an error on the tech. She had never dealt with a tilted uterus before and I was only her second transvaginal US.
Hopefully I’ll get answers soon.

The pics you posted are strong positives but not crazy strong. That’s about what mine looked like at 11 dpo.

mrspuppylove : That’s insane that you got that positive of a test at 11 dpo! There’s a thread on here of someone comparing her 11 and 13 DPO tests and neither look as strong as mine, quite the opposite in fact. But everyone is different! I even showed the nurse at the urgent care today that picture and he agrees that it was an extremely positive test.
My urgent care visit left me empty handed. They couldn’t preform an HCG level test without sending it to the hospital and costing me a small fortune. I gave him my back story and he said the place I received my first US he had never heard of before (I live in a really small community so it’s almost impossible to not know something). He also said that he wished I had gone to a real OB/GYN and skipped that free first US altogether. He agreed that my timeline isn’t right and suggested to act like yesterday’s test didn’t happen as he can’t label the source as credible (it was a low-key non profit organization and I never even spoke with a doctor, just a nurse in training).
I have an appointment on Thursday with my actual doctor for bloodwork and another ultra sound. The urgent care was very nice and didn’t charge me, even though I talked with them for about 45 minutes! So at least I got a little free reassurance. Now I just have to wait…

nycoleman : I can’t imagine how anxious you are about all of this. I hope you get answers soon. Fingers crossed for you.

nycoleman : No advice, just wanted to say that I can’t imagine how scary this must be for you and that I hope everything works out for you and the baby!
