Darling Husband and I are team green and we are now 6 weeks to our due date. We have a boys name but have not found a girls name that we love. Here are the couple of names we still have on our list…give us some suggestions! Middle name will be May.
Madeline (family name)
Amelia (I love, Darling Husband isn’t convinced but I keep it on the list cause I LOVE it)
And that’s it. We’ve scratched off a bunch of others but still feel ambivelent towards these names. We are looking at more traditional and non-trendy as possible names.

@irin997: It seems like every single baby name post on this site has the name “madeline” or some variation of it, which just shows you how popular it is going to be for that generation. I would vote against it just for that reason, although I do love the name.
My vote would be Amelia, but it’s also pretty common lately.

@irin997: I adore the name Amelia. I think it is beautiful, classic, and elegant. It passes the “President Test” for sure!

Out of those names I really like Amelia. I have only known one Amelia so it doesn’t seem popular to me, but it is still a classic name which I like.

Thanks guys, I’m also looking for additional suggestions as we don’t love any one of these names.

@irin997: I also LOVE Amelia and it’s on my “someday kids” list!! I think Amelia May sounds great.

@weim-love: Amelia is a beautiful name but it’s super popular right now. It’s been in the top 50 for the last 4 years.

@irin997: I love them all! But I do especially love Amelia. I feel like Emily is being overdone, but I do like it.

I like Madeline.
I would usually vote Amelia, but it’s the #1 girls name right now and I try to stay away from the “trendier” names.

sort of a spin off of Madeline, I really love the name Adalyn, which could also be spelled Adeline. Had my nephew been a girl, his name would’ve been Adalyn, but he’s all boy, and they named him Brayden, another cute but not crazy name. Happy name searching!

@KateByDesign: Wow really? What a bummer (if I ever got FH on board).
Darling Husband likes Sarah and Emily and I’m not opposed to them. But not in love with them either.
We initially liked Madeline…it grew on us….but then grew away from us. Me particularly because I know how popular it has been in the past 10 years.

I love Amelia! I think it’s beautiful

Thery are all nice names, but I do also like Amelia, its a solid non-trend name in my opinion. Perhaps put up a poll?
