@irin997:  Recently I’ve been in love with the name Amelie… combo of Emily and Amelia. It’s french and just so beautiful.

Other names like the ones you listed…

Maddelyn
Maddison
Addison
Emma
Alyce (uh-lee-s)
Alice / Alison / Ally
Alicia

@irin997:  Actually, I love all of those names. Have you considered Amelie? Just a suggestion since it sounds like a mix of Amelia and Emily! I agree with PPs that Madeline is pretty popular right now, so maybe that could be a middle name? I just adore the name Emily, so I’m probably a bit biased! I sort of like the sound of the name Emily Madeline since it has familial significance!

My name is Sarah, and I have a sister named Emily. The great thing about a classic name is that is widely recognizable. The problem with a name like Sarah, in my experience, is that it is so common it has lost its charm. Every second person I run into is named Sarah, being a very popular name of my generation.

No offense, but anything with May as a middle name makes me think of a hillbilly or a Who from Whoville.

I know they won’t go by Anna May, just Anna, but that’s just my first thought. Whatever name you picked would have to be one that stands alone from that middle name. Juniper, Aurora, Elizabeth, Francesca, Naomi, Jordan, etc. Something that goes with it, but doesn’t automatically lump the two together.

Also, you’d be my hero if you named her April.

Don’t pay attention to trends. It’s your baby, your name!  ๐Ÿ™‚  Amelia was my #1 name since I was like 5 years old. All of my stuffed animals are named emily, amelia or some form of that. I’m finally at “child bearing age” and married and then DHs friend used it last year! Whomp whomp!

Faye and Charlotte are our #1 names right now.  Not sure if you like those!  Darling Husband also likes Abigail and Aubrey.

The girl names Darling Husband and I had picked out were Elle, Penelope, Piper, or Giselle. Darling Husband hated Giselle (which made me super sad, its my favorite ballet!).
