So we are using mason jars with names written on them for escort cards. The plan was originally to use chalkboard contact paper and a chalk pen. We have decided to give the mason jars out early in the day, (we are renting out a summer camp for the weekend), and are afraid that the chalk won’t last.
Can I use a paint pen on the chalkboard contact paper still or do I need to get just regular black contact paper? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I would like to get everything ordered soon!

We’re doing chalkboard stickers, but we’re also going to put a printed tag on each glass with name and table number. I figure the chalk will get wiped off, but we’re going to have chalk on all of the tables so people can just draw or do whatever they want on theirs as it wears off.

@MelBan: I think the chalk paint pens last longer than regular chalk – Try those out.
I would suggest using black chalboard paint, instead of the paper (granted I’m not that familiar with the paper) I would worry that the condensation from the cold drink in the glasses might make it come off.

The chalkboard pen will be fine. Make a sample and test it out.
I would use chalkboard paint also..
