- Wedding: July 2011
So this is my post on this board, and I am needing some timing advice for my wedding this summer. Let me explain what is happening..
Due to date conflicts, we are getting married on a Friday evening, which I am actually thrilled about!! We are having the ceremony on the beach in my small (only 1000 people) hometown. Because I have always wanted to get married at Sunset, our ceremony will be around 7, and should last about a half an hour. My Fiance and I are both from the same town, so the wedding is going to be pretty big… inviting around 325 (we both have large families also). The reception is going to be at a different location, kind of a saloonish thing. My whole thing through all of this is that I just want a big party. I’m not a very formal person, can’t handle uppity events – especially ones that center around me 🙂 So I just want to have a big celebration with my family and friends. Once people get to the reception, our idea was to have 3 stations with food – all the stations with the same thing on them to make it easier. But, because of the timing, we don’t want to serve a large “sit down” dinner because I feel it will take up too much time. With the stations, we are going to have enough food to fill people up – not just little tastings. I’m looking for ideas on how to time this and make this work easily. Once people get to the reception, it will be around 8, and then eat, and have the dance start around 9. I’m wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this with this type of ceremony/reception, and how they made it work 🙂
Thanks guys in advance 🙂
