Calm down. People know there will be traffic and plan accordingly to get there on time. Wedding vendors especially, as it makes for bad business to come late. I have heard of people making it in thunderstorms and all sorts of natural calamities. Sure some people may come late, but that’s in any scenario, as these people are always likely to come late. If you’re really worried that guest X or vendor X won’t make it on time, a gentle email reminder of the traffic/locale can never hurt. It’ll be fine. Now go to bed. =)

Breathe. It will all be ok. You picked a friday so most of your guests will probably be leaving work early to be there or will be off work for the day already in anticipation. You will have guests. Hair dressers, make up artists, photographers will all be waiting to be paid so you bet your butt they will be there too! If it helps, we booked the Civic holiday weekend on a Saturday (Aug 4) without realizing it was a holiday! So we are in the same boat. You will hear from guests before you actually even send out invites if they’re coming or not, people get sooo excited! My receptionist actually changed her holidays so she could come to our wedding. Trust me, it will all work out.

It will be fine! People will know there will be traffic so I’m sure they will plan accordingly. I also agree that it can’t hurt to send out a nice email with a sweet reminder to this effect. As fir your vendors they will be there! They have done this before 🙂

I chose to get married on the Friday of Father’s day weekend so all my out if town guest are having difficulty finding decent flights :(. I didn’t realize it until it was too late to change the date.
