I got the ring ordered and now its time to plan the Proposal.
I have been with my girlfriend for 8 years and want to really wow her with something special.
Any really great ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advanced 🙂

Well, we need a little more info to help out..
What are special things you share? Dates, pets, occasions, etc
What are some things that are special to her? events, places, people, materials?
For example, let me share my story..my Fiance wanted to propose at an apple orchard with our dog and my best friend there to take pics bc fall is my favorite time of the year. However, I had a loved one die the weekend he had everything planned, then I got a new job and was busy planning for that..weeks went by and he got tired of waiting so he made a sign (he actually picked out all the materials at Joanns). The sign said, “will you marry me?” and once day I came downstairs and he was on one knee, my ring was tied around our puppies neck. We are homebodies and like to spend Saturdays at home, coffee, breakfast and hangin out with our dog..so that was the perfect place to ask.
So, are there places she loves to go? Parks, places to eat? Events? Vacations? …Give us more info about what she likes or what is special between you two so we can help! 🙂

Hi MissE…You are so right! I guess I got excited and forgot to add some info. lol
Really great story!! Thank-you for sharing that with us/me.
She enjoys the outdoors and loves to be surprised. A beautiful and simple girl, yet very elegant at the same time. She just goes crazy for the water. waterfal sounds, pools, ..etc. Also loves going out. very social person and how can I forget chocolate. As I am writing this, the wheels are begining to turn. I am going to have to really think out of the box for that WOW effect.
Hopefully I have given enough info.

@TonyRocks69: Why not get some battery powered Christmas lights and some ornaments, and find a pretty tree in the forest and decorate it one morning? Later, you could lead her out there (bonus points if she can’t see the tree until she gets to it; double bonus points for snow) and propose in the early evening next to the tree? Make it sound like a normal camping trip or hike, or even say you’re looking for a lost dog or something if it’s close enough to your house or the house of friends or relatives.

Great Idea with the lights! I could definitely setup an outdoor light show to showcase a candle lit dinner on a portable table..etc and my ring surprise for desert! 🙂 I’ll have to get the help from some of my buds to make it happen. This is surly getting the ball rolling. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

Get a friend to take pictures of her reaction.
Something cute that I saw, a proposal at a tree farm. They hunted for a tree for about 45 minutes. When they picked it out, he got down on one knee and picked her.

@EffieTrinket: That is SUCH a good idea!!! I love it!
@TonyRocks69: If you go with Effie’s idea, and you have a friend help set up, you should have the friend hide nearby and take pictures of the actual proposal! Let us know how it goes!

@TonyRocks69: it is awesome you are asking for advice for this!Make it something or place thats very special to her. my Fiance proposed to me at the lake we always go fishing at, and since it is right by our house i drive past it every day. to me that was so romantic
the only thing i wish is that we had pictures of it, which i guess most people don’t have. but it would be so nice. so if you have a friend help you out, have them hide out somewhere and get some pictures

You guys are all great!! Loving the ideas. I was thinking of doing it in the evening, but then I would need a night vision camera. Flashes before would be a give away. Its going to start to turn into a huge production…lights, camera’s, a director..lol 🙂

The Quorri ring arrived!! Its truly stunning, so my proposal has to be just as beautiful and memorable. The pressure is on! I want to thank you all for some really great ideas. I am working on a outdoor, candle lit dinner with a light show of sorts. It should be a dazzler. I am hoping to get it done for this weekend or possible the next. Keep ya all posted. wish me luck.

Why don’t you do an early Christmas-present themed scavenger hunt? You can start with giving her a box of gourmet chocolates, then a clue to the next present. You can do 12 total w/ the ring/you as #12. You could start at home, and each clue would be in a different place, like her favorite store, or a quiet spot that you both like that’s local.
Edit: love the candlelit dinner, that could be the last stop, and don’t propose right away, just tell her to enjoy dinner with you.
As an excuse for all this so she doesn’t get suspicious: you could say you wanted to do Christmas early and spend quality time with her before the craziness of the holidays with your family.
Also, kudos to you for coming on here to research/ask advice, she’s a lucky girl, congrats 🙂

My Darling Husband hired a photographer to capture the moment. It’s a picture that I really treasure!!! Then we took pics afterwards. I love the idea of a picnic in the forest! Maybe the photographer could hide?

@TonyRocks69: Hmm, likes surprises? Loves water sounds? Out of the box? Why not try something like this? http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-toilet-proposal-literally
…I kid, I kid. You have to admit, it would make one heck of a story.
