@Mrs_Amanda:  some good shape wear can definitely help and five pounds is possible if you’re willing to throw in even 20 minutes of cardio every day until the wedding. Drink lots of water, stay away from carbs and eat lots of fruits and veggies. Don’t snack if you can help it and good luck!

Reduce your carbs/sugars? This includes fruits and high-carb vegetables, in addition to breads and grains.

Drink only water/tea, don’t eat any bread- if you need a carb fix, go for popcorn. Eat a lot of veggies and lean protein, and run a mile every day. If you need to keep your mouth busy after dinner, have tea. This usually takes off about 3lbs for me in a week (5’2, 120).
I wouldn’t do shapewear (if it can be avoided) because it will probably be even less comfortable in the long run since it’s hot and tight, and might push some of your weight up so that it gives you a back muffin top.

no white food (flour, rice, sugar, bread), Lower your refined sugar intake, Walk, do yoga, drink lots of water.

I have lost a bit of weight just by eating a salad AFTER my dinner. I try to take half as many carbs with my main protien, eat that first, then eat a bunch of salad after. It ups your fiber intake and cleans our your tract.

NO gluten and low carbs. Gluten stays undigested for days adding weight to the body…especially the gut. Drink plently water and no sugar!

@Mrs_Amanda:  love me some south beach for quick weight loss. no carbs (i.e. no breads, no rice, no pastas) and no sugars (obviously no candy, no sugar in your coffee or tea, no pop, but also avoid natural sugars like citrus fruits).

Try the 5 day fast forward of the Cinch Diet by Cynthia Sass. She has an MPH and an Rehearsal Dinner so she’s not some loony. Essentially, you eat four meals a day consisting of various combinations of eggs, plain yogurt, spinach, almonds, and raspberries. The only beverages allowed are water, tea, and black coffee (1 cup). I did this before a wedding and it worked, even though like you I eat very healthily in general. I used frozen rasperries for the smoothie and parfait to save a little money (you could use frozen spinach for the scramble too). Space the meals 3-4 hours apart, eat them in any order you like, and if you experience real hunger, eat another egg or some more yogurt/almond butter. Don’t exercise excessively because this is pretty low-calorie, but it will work to de-bloat you!

Meal One (breakfast scramble, fruit & yogurt)

  • one egg plus one cup of spinach scrambled, pepper, garlic powder optional
  • 6 oz plain fat-free yogurt
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2T sliced almonds

Meal Two (parfait)

  • 6 oz plain fat-free yogurt
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2T sliced almonds
  • dash of cinnamon, or fresh mint (optional)

Meal Three (salad)

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • 2T almonds
  • balsamic vinegar, pepper

Meal Four (smoothie)

  • 6 oz plain fat-free yogurt
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2T almond butter (no sugar no salt, I like Maranatha brand)

I did the Special K Challenge and lost 12ish lbs in 2 weeks, but I was more strict about it than the plan called for, so if you followed it correctly, it would probably be good for your goal. I liked it b/c it took out all the guesswork. The only thing I had to prepare were healthy dinners.

I would first go get some great shapewear. I love spanx. This will smooth everything out and help the zipper go up easier. I think once you have some good shapewear on you might not need to really diet. But if you go that route, try to avoid carbs, drink lots of water, and maybe throw in some work outs.

@Mrs_Amanda: its hard to stay away, but really you dont have to cut it completely out. to drop pounds more quickly, its definitely a necessity. for me, i have hypoglycemia, so when i do south beach i leave the fruit in (whole fruit, not fruit juice – they add way too much sugar) for the first couple of weeks and slowly phase it out.

@Mrs_Amanda:  The running will help a ton!! Especially because I find that when I run, even though I hate it, I’ve invested actual effort in being healthier. That means that I don’t go and blow it by eating anything unhealthy, since I don’t want to suffer through a run and have it be for nothing.
The best way I’ve found to get into it is to run fast for as long as I can, then walk until I catch my breath, and then repeat. It’s a good workout without feeling like I am a failure for having to stop.

@Mrs_Amanda:  If you’re looking to debloat then avoid salt…. it can force you to retain water.
