Hi all! My Fiance and I met in middle school, were best friends for about 13 years before we got into a relationship with one another and got engaged. We are on the slightly more traditional side but still want something fun and different. We’ve been thinking of unique ideas for the wedding but haven’t been able to come up with anything we would still like 24 hours later. We are going to have a huge wedding (500 guests) and really want everyone to have a good time. Does anyone have any great ideas for the reception? Anything you did/are doing for the wedding reception that nobody else you know has done? Also, how did you name your tables if you didn’t have numbers? Thanks!

@WYAtocha: I don’t know that this would fit with your tastes/personalities, but Fiance and I are homebodies and love our video games, our favorite book series and TV shows; instead of table numbers, we are having each table themed with something we both enjoy.
We’re pretty light-hearted and don’t take ourselves too seriously, so we’ll have a Futurama table, a Fallout table, a Harry Potter table, Game of Thrones, Lost, etc.
I originally saw the idea on Offbeat Bride. Our ceremony and reception are relatively small, only 60 – 75 people that know us very well.
While those overall themes may not apply, it could be personalized to interests the two of you share.
