One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places is Le Pain Quotidien (which has numerous locations all over the city). It’s a chain, but certainly doesn’t feel like one. One of the best things about it is that they have a huge communal table at the center of every restaurant. Seating maximums vary… but the food is very good! I believe there are a few on the UWS.

sarabeth’s is one of the most popular brunch spots.  sorry i’m a total downtown gal – i don’t know too much about the upper westside!

One of my all time favorite Brunch Places is Jane’s on Houston Street.  They have a phenomenal Sunday  Brunch Menu.  I believe they have a private party room downstairs that you can inquire about but I’m not sure what the capacity limit is.  Oh and did I mention, they serve brunch with champagne, bloody mary’s, and all sorts of alcoholic goodies?!  Jane’s got my vote!

I’m not sure if any of these places have a private room – but you can try Sarabeth’s (Amsterdam and 80th), Nice Matin (Amsterdam and 79th), Cafe Mozart (70th btwn Col. and Bwy), Citrus (Amsterdam and 75th) has a private room downstairs.  Hope This Helps, Good luck!

POPOVER CAFE is a really cute brunch place. It’s on Amsterdam&86th St. It’s a small quaint cafe, so you’ll need to check out the space.

TOTALLY downtown The Essex is my FAVORITE brunch place. For $16.95/person which includes THREE Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s you can have wonderful brunch items like: Eggs Benedict with Lobster… or a Prime Rib special! It’s a wonderful Industrial Loft style space to boot!
