So I ordered my dress from a company online and I received it yesterday. I was so excited as it was delivered at work, I couldn’t wait to try it on. Yes I went into the bathroom at work, took my clothes off and attempted to put the dress on. WHAT????? IT DIDN’T FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so disappointed. I have 4 days to return it but they didn’t have a bigger size in that style and I love that dress. OK so now I have to try to lose at LEAST 2 sizes before my June wedding. I know I can do it as I have lost 75 lbs already through a weight loss clinic but with the expense of the wedding I can’t afford the clinic anymore so now I’m on my own. If I hadn’t of gained that 13 lbs back that I had already lost I would be so much closer. I really need some major support from the beehive!!!!! I couldn’t even see what the dress was going to look like as it was so small……I am very sad but I can’t let it get me down it is just more motivation to lose the weight!!!!
Help me girls!!!!!!!!

I know this maybe isn’t the type of support you were looking for, but maybe it might be easier for you to find another dress instead of stressing your self/body to lose weight. You still have enough time to order another dress, and you are going to be so busy the next couple of months that I wouldn’t want you to overload yourself. I could understand you wanting to look your best, but I just think its better to play safe than sorry when it comes to your dress.
You are going to look beautiful on your wedding day no matter what you choose to do.

Thats 9 months! You can totally do it within that timeframe. Do a little shopping on Amazon maybe for diet books, read the reviews and pick one you like, and go for it. Even if you only lost 1/2 lb a week you’d lose 18lbs, and if you combine that with some alterations you should be totally fine. You can do it!!

Do they have sizes larger than what you need? A good seamstress can take a dress WAY in- if they don’t have ANY larger sizes, I think you should really think about whether you want the stress or pressure of NEEDING to drop lbs. I know I always do better losing weight when I can “cheat” a couple times and not feel like I’m on a deadline.
If you love love love the dress- start NOW on the diet/workout plan. You already have the skill set to lose weight (btw CONGRATS on losing 75lbs- amazing!!) and you can do it!!

Thanks for the support so far. They do not have anymore of the dress that I bought. I got a really good deal on it so I’m not stressing about it too bad. I will try to lose the weight and if I can’t lose enough closer to time, I will just buy another one and pass this one one to another bride-to-be at a great price. Keep the advice coming!!!!

@future.mrs.bollman: You can do it!! Congrats on losing 75!! I did the south beach before my wedding and it helped me button the back of my dress + gave me some room! I definitely recommend it 🙂

another thing to consider is that sometimes it doesn’t matter how much weight you lose…your frame dictates a lot of what size you will be, so it’s really hard to know what size you’ll be after losing the weight. for example, i have WIDE hips. even when i only weighed 120lb (i’m 5’8), i was a size 10 because of my hips. (i’m currently somewhere between a 14 and 16 at 175lb.) for some women, ribcage is the limiting factor.
there’s no doubt in my mind that you can lose the weight in 9 months, and congrats on losing 75lb! if it were me though, i’d send the dress back and find a different one to be on the safe side.
