Well do they have a registry or anything?

Think about what they need around their house / what would be nice to have.

Maybe for 100 you could get a nice wood salad set?

We’re traveling for our wedding (driving, not flying) but I’m still hoping that anybody who does buy a gift will send it to our house because we just won’t have room in our car to bring a bunch of gifts back.  Maybe you could just give them a card at their wedding with a note inside that says that their gift is waiting for them back home?

I had to fly back home for my bridal shower and everybody was so generous with gifts, but I had to leave over half of them there for my mom to drive them down to me a few months later.  So if you think a lot of people will be giving gifts, send it.

@Fallicious1012:  hmmm.  Well, something generic is going to be your best bet, because you said you didn’t want to give them cash or a cheque.

I would stick to something like a wood salad set, or some new sheets, or some toasting flutes or a photo frame.

What about just giving them a 100 dollar gift card?

With the babies coming, they might appreciate a gift card to a place like Target or Wal Mart, where it can go towards stuff they need.

I don’t think toasting flutes makes much sense for a pregnant woman, especially if she’s having twins.  She won’t be drinking much alcohol for the next several years!

I wouldn’t bring a gift, since they’re going to have to transport it back- make it as easy for them as possible. Either ship something to the house, or give them a gift card- Target or Macy’s are always good bets.

First, I highly recommend straight up asking your brother for some suggestions.  Keep in mind that he may say “cash.”  Especially given his soon-to-arrive pair of expenses.

I would echo the new sheets, nice towels or cash.  Those are things which can replace other things, so their place does not end up over stuffed.

Other than that, definitely send it to their house unless it is cash or a gift card.

Don’ t get them something trinket-y or only kind of useful, newlyweds with twins can eat salad out of any kind of bowl, I think if you don’t know them that well and dont want to give cash a gift card to a store thry frequent ( as in make sure it isn’t a several hour drive to the cloesest one) would be best, that way there is no doubt they will get something they want and will be used not added too the stack of thongs to re gift.

@Fallicious1012:  I understand you not wanting to spoil the surprise, but remember that many couples also face the “uhh… why would they ever think we’d want this?!” surprise!

Just a quick thought on the plaque (as long as it’s not your own etsy shop, I’ve seen tonnes of links to etsy on here), make sure that she plans to change her name before having it made.

And just my own two cents… personally I don’t care for many of the personalized items that people buy… other people may like them, but personally I don’t.  I guess I’m trying to say “know your audience.”

Do you have any absolute favourite kitchen items?  A frying pan you can’t live without?  An awesome set of mixing bowls?  Maybe consider something that you totally love and can’t live without?
