Honestly, that might be hard to come across at that price point. You’d definitely be able to find a solitaire setting within your range but I don’t know if you consider that to be too simple. The cheapest halo setting we were able to find on our hunt was a custom job for about $1200. Almost all of the halos we found premade through various vendors ran in the $1500-$4000 range. 

I also have a 1.5 yellow cushion and one of the reason our price was driven up was the fact that most premade halos were being sold to accomodate around 1ct or less. Since we obviously needed a bigger halo, that meant more stones, more material (not a lot, but enough to drive the price up and require a special work order so the halo could be made to fit our stone exactly).

@zombiemonster:  I see you are in NJ, have you considered venturing into NYC to the diamond district?  You would definitely have your choice of thousands of settings in your price range!

@zombiemonster:  Any reason you didn’t set itwhen youpurchased it?  I rarely hear about people buying colored stones loose.  What about asimple pave setting?
