My suggestion is to buy yourself a pedometer and wear it! Usually on my lunch break, I just sit, but now I really want to get to my 10,000+ steps, so I walk! It’s such good motivation for me!

I had wanted to loose 20+lbs before even trying on any dresses…I went with my mom one day and honestly what helped me WAS trying on dresses, because I was not fully happy with how my body was looking and it motivated me start working hard!

I have been doing the Montignac Method since September and lost 21kgs (42pounds)! I am so much happier now, as I didn’t want to be a fat bride. Went gown shopping in March and have lost another 6kg since then. Montignac is fab, because you can still occasionally eat chocolate, and cheese and wine are also allowed. Love it – will never be fat again now… good Luck! I found some shops were a bit snooty (despite me being a healthy 14 at the time) but I just didn’t get my gown there, and Future Mother-In-Law came to my defense – love her so much for that!Smile

I honestly have no advice…All I do is sit around all day studying a bunch of nursing books. 🙁

I hear ya! Since meeting the fella I promptly put on around 12kg (which is 26 pounds – ewwww) and have been trying to get it off for 5 yrs now! The thing that made me get my arse in gear was the thought of thinking I looked fat in my wedding photos when there was no need to! So I bit the bullet and signed up for personal training. I’ve been going twice a week for nearly 3 weeks now and it’s been great. I didn’t want to get a gym membership cos I knew I’d get home from working all day and it would be cold and dark outside and I wouldn’t go. However, with someone expecting me I know I have to go. It’s also great to have someone that motivates you and keeps you on track – plus he pushes me way harder than I’d ever push myself. While it’s painful and I hate it (and him! LOL) at the time I have noticed a difference in my strength and fitness and the weight is slowly peeling off which is nice. Good luck!

I felt exactly the same way!!! I waited and waited to try on dresses till after I lost weight b/c I wanted wedding dress shopping to be a positive experience. Ended up ordering in March and now I’m worried I will be pressed for time trying to get my dress in time for my Sept. wedding. My advice, go ahead and start looking and order the dress in your size now. It can always be sized down! Plus buying the dress was the best weight loss motivator ever!

I was feeling the same way. I know WW works but I got tired (*ahem* Lazy) and stopped tracking points. I still practice alot of what I learned in WW and find it extremely helpful, I measure food, eat 5-6 times a day. I only eat dessert with a 1-3 point value a couple times a week. I load up my plate with veggies. The BIGGEST thing that has helped me so far for wedding weight loss has been to sign up with trainer/class. I go to a bootcamp twice a week for intense workout that includes jump training and weights with bursts of cardio. I feel 100% healthier, i’ve lost 14 lbs since January and 8 inches all over. I feel guilty if I have to miss and I make up my class. Because it is such a small group the trainer gets to know you well and there is something about having someone waiting for you that makes you get out and get there. I know i’ll be questioned later if I do not make it.  I took the wedding and the weight I wanted to lose as an opportunity to focus on my health, I will continue after wedding and this has even motivated Fiance to watch what he eats and he has lost about 14lbs too and he only takes his bike out once a week! Men lose weight much easier grrrr!
