As some of you know, I am an active participant of Mr. Bee’s Plan. I’m trying to stay strong (haven’t talked to the SO for 3 months or so about getting engaged) because I know he 1. has a ring and 2. wants to get engaged.
One of my distractions is reading new books. Ideally, I’d love if you all could suggest a new series or author for me to read.
My favorite author is Emily Giffin. She’s known for book Something Borrowed, but I’ve read all of hers (including the new one that just came out).
I’ve read all the popular books like Hunger Games and 50 Shades. Can you guys suggest anything else for me?
Also, I figured this post might be helpful to other Bees who are looking for a distraction as well! 🙂

I loved The Help. I also just read a book called Gone Girl that I loved. I am now reading a book called Maine. I get all of my book ideas from People magazine lol.

Loved Thomas Harris’ books – The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal especially.
I enjoyed reading The Borgia Bride as well.

Well, it seems like you prefer Romance novels. Since you like Emily Griffin, I will recommend Kristan Higgins. Her novels are basically first person, but she is witty and quirky so I think it would go along the same lines. Also Mariah Stewart, her newest novels, which are less murder mystery and more small town cute romance. I think you would enjoy those.

I’m reading Momento Mori by Iris Murdoch and LOVING IT.
Hmm…have you read The Shipping News by Annie Proulx? The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood? Go to the library and ask the librarians for recommendations.

anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez…my literary crush. Not similiar to what you have read but hey…new books are good avenues to walk down.
