So we just discovered we have termites…. That means lots more money needs to be poured into our newly bought house… So we have to repair water damaged edges to our wooden beams for the roof… replace gutters and now treat for termites and ants and hope that the damage is confined to the one board which isn’t a roof beam… Because if they have gotten into a beam we are a bit screwed… I am just so scared they have gotten further than we can see and my husband just keep telling me it will be ok which I will appreciate but won’t feel better until it is ok… Thankfully we don’t have wooden flooring so although they might be nesting under the floor, they aren’t eating that…
Anyone have any experience with them?

BtoR: Ugh, that sucks! I know everyone will say it, but that’s home ownership for ya. We didn’t have that exact issue but 6 months after moving into our house the water in the second bath shower was overflowing and we knew that wasn’t good because we never use that shower. It was just coming up from the pipes and sitting there. So I tried drano, nothing. Called a plumber and had a major issue, there was a blockage in the sewer line and basically everything was coming out under the house in our crawl space because there was also something wrong with pipe under there. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. So we had to pay to have it fixed and on top of that pay for someone to clean up the mess underneath. So I totally understand how frustrating it is to deal with major things after buying a house. I hope the termite and ant problem doesn’t turn out to be that bad for you.

MiJeS1104: Thanks… We really hoping that the damage is confined to that one small section and that the 500 litres of poison they will be pouring into holes they make around the house work…
Haha the that is home ownership lines is exactly what my dh said and is probably what my parents will tell me… We have just found so many issues since moving in that we need to deal with that I am super frustrated… Will feel better once I know that all the major things have been fixed…
